Journal ArticleDOI

The synergistic effect of combining woodlands and green veining for biodiversity

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors investigated the relationship between the occurrence of 40 forest plant and animal species in 1,000 km grid cells in the Netherlands and the spatial cohesion of the surrounding large woodlands and small woody elements.
Journal ArticleDOI

Large‐scale climatic drivers of regional winter bird population trends

TL;DR: In this paper, the role of climate change and habitat preference in terrestrial winter bird population changes in Northern Europe was explored and the authors reported national population trends for 50 species for which a trend could be calculated in at least three of the countries.
Journal ArticleDOI

Long-term and large-scale multispecies dataset tracking population changes of common European breeding birds

TL;DR: The Pan-European Common Bird Monitoring Scheme (PCMBS) as discussed by the authors is a large scale database of 170 species of birds collected by around fifteen thousand fieldworkers annually counting breeding birds using standardized protocols in 28 European countries.
Journal ArticleDOI

Effect of road traffic on the breeding site-tenacity of male Willow Warblers (Phylloscopus trochilus)

TL;DR: The breeding site-tenacity of colour-ringed male Willow Warblers was studied in an homogenous area of 154 ha, which is crossed by a heavily travelled road and indicates that adjacent to the road the habitat is less favourable for the Willow Warbler and can be considered as marginal.
