The Geological Record of Ocean Acidification
Bärbel Hönisch,Andy Ridgwell,Daniela N. Schmidt,Ellen Thomas,Ellen Thomas,Samantha J. Gibbs,Appy Sluijs,Richard E. Zeebe,Lee R. Kump,Rowan C. Martindale,Sarah E. Greene,Sarah E. Greene,Wolfgang Kiessling,Justin B. Ries,James C Zachos,Dana L. Royer,Stephen Barker,Thomas M Marchitto,Ryan P. Moyer,Carles Pelejero,Patrizia Ziveri,Patrizia Ziveri,Gavin L. Foster,Branwen Williams +23 more
TL;DR: This paper reviewed events exhibiting evidence for elevated atmospheric CO2, global warming, and ocean acidification over the past ~300 million years of Earth's history, some with contemporaneous extinction or evolutionary turnover among marine calcifiers.
Journal ArticleDOI
Accuracy and Precision of Tidal Wetland Soil Carbon Mapping in the Conterminous United States.
James R. Holmquist,Lisamarie Windham-Myers,Norman B. Bliss,Stephen Crooks,James T. Morris,J. Patrick Megonigal,Tiffany G. Troxler,Donald E. Weller,John C. Callaway,Judith Z. Drexler,Matthew C. Ferner,Meagan Eagle Gonneea,Kevin D. Kroeger,Lisa Schile-Beers,Isa Woo,Kevin J. Buffington,Joshua L. Breithaupt,Brandon M. Boyd,Lauren Brown,Nicole Dix,Lyndie A. Hice,Benjamin P. Horton,Glen M. MacDonald,Ryan P. Moyer,William R. Reay,Timothy M. Shaw,Erik M. Smith,Joseph M. Smoak,Christopher K. Sommerfield,Karen M. Thorne,David J. Velinsky,Elizabeth Burke Watson,Kristin Wilson Grimes,Mark S. Woodrey +33 more
TL;DR: The assembled dataset showed that carbon density across the conterminous united states (CONUS) was normally distributed, with a predictable range of observations, and identified the simplest strategy, applying mean carbon density (27.0 kg C m−3), as the best performing strategy.
Journal ArticleDOI
Spatial patterns and ecology of benthic communities on a high-latitude South Florida (Broward County, USA) reef system
TL;DR: In this paper, community data were collected on each reef using 50-m, line-inter- cept transects using multivariate non-metric statistics, the data show distinct differences in benthic community structure across several spatial gradients.
Journal ArticleDOI
Enabling efficient, large-scale high-spatial resolution wetland mapping using satellites.
Matthew J. McCarthy,Matthew J. McCarthy,Kara R. Radabaugh,Ryan P. Moyer,Frank E. Muller-Karger +4 more
TL;DR: In this paper, a method to process and classify multispectral high-resolution satellite data to update wetland maps is described, which offers high potential for monitoring change in coastal areas and adjacent watersheds over large geographic scales.
Journal ArticleDOI
Developing the scientific framework for urban geochemistry
Lisa G. Chambers,Yu-Ping Chin,Gabriel M. Filippelli,Christopher B. Gardner,Elizabeth Herndon,David T. Long,W. Berry Lyons,G.L. Macpherson,Shawn P. McElmurry,Colleen E. McLean,Joel Moore,Ryan P. Moyer,Klaus Neumann,Carmen Nezat,Keir Soderberg,Nadya Teutsch,Elisabeth Widom +16 more
TL;DR: The first meeting of the reorganized Urban Geochemistry Working Group of the International Association of GeoChemistry (IAGC) was held in Columbus, Ohio, United States.
