Experiments on the structure of turbulence in fully developed pipe flow: interpretation of the measurements by a wave model

TL;DR: In this article, the authors describe two-point velocity measurements made at various radial positions in water in fully developed pipe flow, where axial velocity fluctuations were measured with hot-film anemometers at two points sufficiently close together that the turbulence structure remained essentially unchanged while passing between them.
Journal ArticleDOI

Bio-inspired surfactants capable of generating plant volatiles

TL;DR: Bio-inspired molecular design of farnesol-based surfactants facilitates similar production, storage and release of PVs.
Journal ArticleDOI

Search for the rare decay Bs0→μ+μ-

V. M. Abazov, +372 more
- 09 Apr 2013 -
TL;DR: In this article, the authors performed a search for the rare decay B-s(0) -> mu(+) mu(-) using data collected by the D0 experiment at the Fermilab Tevatron Collider.
Journal ArticleDOI

Thorium as a nuclear fuel for CANDU reactors

TL;DR: The thorium fuel cycle is shown to be relatively insensitive to the cost of natural resources and the conditions under which fuelling costs for the thorium cycle will become competitive with the present natural uranium fuel cycle are discussed as mentioned in this paper.
