TL;DR: The Earth 2.0 (ET) mission as mentioned in this paper is designed to measure, for the first time, the occurrence rate and the orbital distributions of Earth-sized planets, and consists of seven 30cm telescopes, to be launched to the Earth-Sun's L2 point.
Journal ArticleDOI
Magnetic and Rotational Evolution of ρ CrB from Asteroseismology with TESS
Travis S. Metcalfe,Jennifer L. van Saders,Sarbani Basu,Derek Buzasi,Jeremy J. Drake,Ricky Egeland,Daniel Huber,Steven H. Saar,Keivan G. Stassun,Warrick H. Ball,Tiago L. Campante,Adam J. Finley,Oleg Kochukhov,Savita Mathur,Timo Reinhold,Victor See,Sallie L. Baliunas,Willie Soon +17 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the evolution of rotation and magnetic activity in solar-type stars appears to be strongly coupled during the first half of main-sequence lifetimes, and the authors aim to characterize this mid-life transition by combining archival stellar activity data from the Mount Wilson Observatory with asteroseismology from the Transiting Exoplanet Survey Satellite (TESS).
Journal ArticleDOI
A distant mirror: solar oscillations observed on neptune by the kepler k 2 mission
Patrick Gaulme,Patrick Gaulme,Patrick Gaulme,Jason F. Rowe,Timothy R. Bedding,Timothy R. Bedding,Othman Benomar,E. Corsaro,Guy R. Davies,Guy R. Davies,Steven J. Hale,Steven J. Lissauer,Mark S. Marley,Amy Simon,William J. Chaplin,William J. Chaplin,Yvonne Elsworth,Yvonne Elsworth,Joyce A. Guzik,Neil Murphy,V. Silva Aguirre +37 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors presented the first indirect detection of solar oscillations in intensity measurements using a global asteroseismic approach, which consists of measuring the oscillation frequency at maximum amplitude max velocity and the mean frequency separation between mode overtones delta velocity.
Journal ArticleDOI
ERRATUM: Revised Stellar Properties of Kepler Targets for the Q1–17 (DR25) Transit Detection Run (ApJS, 229, 30)
Savita Mathur,Daniel Huber,Daniel Huber,Daniel Huber,Natalie M. Batalha,David R. Ciardi,Fabienne A. Bastien,Allyson Bieryla,Lars A. Buchhave,William D. Cochran,Michael Endl,Gilbert A. Esquerdo,Elise Furlan,Andrew W. Howard,Steve B. Howell,Howard Isaacson,David W. Latham,Phillip J. MacQueen,David R. Silva +18 more
TL;DR: Mathur et al. as mentioned in this paper proposed a detection run for exoplanets and proposed a method to detect the existence of worlds in the solar system using the ApJS detection run.
Journal ArticleDOI
The acoustic low-degree modes of the Sun measured with 14 years of continuous GOLF & VIRGO measurements
Rafael A. García,David Salabert,David Salabert,Jérôme Ballot,K. H. Sato,Savita Mathur,Antonio Jiménez,Antonio Jiménez +7 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors characterize the acoustic modes over the entire p-mode range in both, Doppler velocity and luminosity, with a special care for the low-frequency modes taking advantage of the stability and the high duty cycle of space observations.
