TL;DR: The progressive accumulation of exhausted, unconventionally activated CD8+PD1+ T cells in NASH-affected livers provides a rationale for stratification of patients with HCC according to underlying aetiology in studies of immunotherapy as a primary or adjuvant treatment.

TL;DR: A detailed view of the immune micromilieu in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) using a spatially-resolved multimodal single cell approach is provided in this article , where single cell RNA sequencing, spatial transcriptomics, multiplex immunohistochemistry and mass cytometry are applied to profile the immune compartment in treatment naive PDAC tumors and matched adjacent normal pancreatic tissue, as well as in the systemic circulation.
