Journal ArticleDOI

Will endothelin receptor antagonists have a role in heart failure

TL;DR: MixedET(A/B) and selective ET(A) receptor antagonists showed promising hemodynamic and symptomatic improvements in patients with heart failure and on the clinical outcome of patients with CHF.
Journal ArticleDOI

The year in cardiology 2016: acute coronary syndromes

TL;DR: The year 2016 brought us several studies on the pathophysiology of acute coronary syndrome (ACS), in particular, on the role of basophils and eosinophils in the mechanism of disease, and important new data on the duration of dual antiplatelet therapy (DAPT) and on the management of the growing population of very elderly.
Journal ArticleDOI

Atherosclerosis and CAD.

TL;DR: The authors conclude that in STEMI patients who underwent primary PCI, high-intensity statin therapy with rosuvastatin for 13 months with a primary IVUS endpoint was the change in percentage atheroma volume, and the necrotic core was unaffected, as was the number of thin cap fibroatheromas.
Journal ArticleDOI

Development of nitrate tolerance in human arteries and veins: comparison of nitroglycerin and SPM 5185.

TL;DR: Compared to nitroglycerin, the new cysteine-containing mononitrate SPM 5185 exhibited a lower sensitivity but comparable maximal relaxation in arteries and veins, and seems to be less prone to the development of tolerance, which may be advantageous during chronic nitrate therapy.
