Polaronic metal state at the LaAlO 3 /SrTiO 3 interface
Claudia Cancellieri,Andrey S. Mishchenko,Ulrich Aschauer,Alessio Filippetti,Carina Faber,O. S. Barišić,V. A. Rogalev,Thorsten Schmitt,Naoto Nagaosa,Vladimir N. Strocov +9 more
TL;DR: Soft-X-ray angle-resolved photoelectron spectroscopy is used to penetrate through the LaAlO3 overlayer and access charge carriers at the buried interface and directly identifies the interface charge carriers as large polarons, emerging from coupling of charge and lattice degrees of freedom.

Direct k-space mapping of the electronic structure in oxide-oxide interfaces

Selective Probing of Hidden Spin-Polarized States in Inversion-Symmetric Bulk MoS 2
Elia Razzoli,Thomas Jaouen,Marie-L. Mottas,B. Hildebrand,Gaël Monney,Andrea Pisoni,Stefan Muff,Stefan Muff,Mauro Fanciulli,Mauro Fanciulli,Nicholas C. Plumb,V. A. Rogalev,Vladimir N. Strocov,Joël Mesot,Joël Mesot,Joël Mesot,Ming Shi,Jan Hugo Dil,Jan Hugo Dil,Hans Peter Beck,Philipp Aebi +20 more
TL;DR: Calculations based on a three-step model of photoemission show that the valley and layer-locked spin-polarized electronic states can be selectively addressed by circularly polarized light, therefore providing a novel route to probe these hidden spin-Polarized states in inversion-symmetric systems as predicted by Zhang et al.
Journal ArticleDOI
Disentangling bulk and surface Rashba effects in ferroelectric α -GeTe
Július Krempaský,Henrieta Volfová,Stefan Muff,Stefan Muff,N. Pilet,Gabriel Landolt,Gabriel Landolt,Miroslav Radović,Ming Shi,Dominik Kriegner,Václav Holý,Jürgen Braun,Hubert Ebert,Federico Bisti,V. A. Rogalev,Vladimir N. Strocov,Gunther Springholz,Jan Minár,Jan Minár,Jan Hugo Dil,Jan Hugo Dil +20 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the bulk electronic structure is disentangled from the two-dimensional surface electronic structure by means of surface capping, which quenches the complex surface electronic structures.
Journal ArticleDOI
A novel artificial condensed matter lattice and a new platform for one-dimensional topological phases
Ilya Belopolski,Su-Yang Xu,Nikesh Koirala,Chang Liu,Guang Bian,Vladimir N. Strocov,Guoqing Chang,Madhab Neupane,Nasser Alidoust,Daniel S. Sanchez,Hao Zheng,Matthew Brahlek,V. A. Rogalev,V. A. Rogalev,Timur K. Kim,Nicholas C. Plumb,Chaoyu Chen,François Bertran,Patrick Le Fèvre,Amina Taleb-Ibrahimi,Maria-Carmen Asensio,Ming Shi,Hsin Lin,Moritz Hoesch,Seongshik Oh,M. Zahid Hasan,M. Zahid Hasan +26 more
TL;DR: It is argued that the superlattice may be characterized in a significant way by a one-dimensional topological invariant, closely related to the invariant of the Su-Schrieffer-Heeger model.
