Journal ArticleDOI
Gliomasphere marker combinatorics: multidimensional flow cytometry detects CD44+/CD133+/ITGA6+/CD36+ signature.
Friedrich Erhart,Bernadette Blauensteiner,Gabriel Zirkovits,Dieter Printz,Klara Soukup,Simone Klingenbrunner,Katrin Fischhuber,René Reitermaier,Angela Halfmann,Daniela Lötsch,Sabine Spiegl-Kreinecker,Walter Berger,Carmen Visus,Alexander M. Dohnal +13 more
TL;DR: A previously unknown marker combination is detected – demonstrating feasibility, usefulness, and importance of high‐dimensional gliomasphere marker combinatorics.
Journal ArticleDOI
SP-transcription factors are involved in basal MVP promoter activity and its stimulation by HDAC inhibitors.
Elisabeth Steiner,Klaus Holzmann,Christine Pirker,Leonilla Elbling,Michael Micksche,Walter Berger +5 more
TL;DR: Variations in Sp-transcription factor binding to a single proximal GC-box element as critical for basal MVP promoter activation and its stimulation by HDAC inhibitors are identified.
Journal ArticleDOI
Influence of ascorbic acid on the activity of the investigational anticancer drug KP1019.
Caroline Bartel,Alexander E. Egger,Michael A. Jakupec,Petra Heffeter,Markus Galanski,Walter Berger,Bernhard K. Keppler +6 more
TL;DR: It is shown that co-incubation of equicytotoxic, constant amounts of KP1019 with high concentrations of ascorbic acid increases cytotoxicity of the ruthenium anticancer drug in the human colon carcinoma cell line SW480, human cervical carcinoma KB-3-1 cells, and the multidrug-resistant subline KBC-1, whereas addition of low concentrations has a strong chemoprotective effect.
Journal ArticleDOI
Electronic State of Sodium trans-[Tetrachloridobis(1H-indazole)ruthenate(III)] (NKP-1339) in Tumor, Liver and Kidney Tissue of a SW480-bearing Mouse.
Amir Blazevic,Alfred A. Hummer,Petra Heffeter,Walter Berger,Martin Filipits,Giannantonio Cibin,Bernhard K. Keppler,Annette Rompel +7 more
TL;DR: In this article, the coordination charge and 3D XANES plots containing a series of model compounds as well as pre-edge analysis of the ligand Cl K-edge were analyzed.
Journal ArticleDOI
EVI1 inhibits apoptosis induced by antileukemic drugs via upregulation of CDKN1A/p21/WAF in human myeloid cells.
Anna Rommer,Birgit Steinmetz,Friederike Herbst,Hubert Hackl,Petra Heffeter,Daniela Heilos,Martin Filipits,Katarina Steinleitner,Shayda Hemmati,Irene Herbacek,Ilse Schwarzinger,Katharina Hartl,Pieter Rondou,Hanno Glimm,Kadin Karakaya,Alwin Krämer,Walter Berger,Rotraud Wieser +17 more
TL;DR: It is shown that a human myeloid cell line constitutively overexpressing EVI1 after infection with a retroviral vector was partially resistant to etoposide and daunorubicin as compared to empty vector infected control cells (U937_vec).
