Journal ArticleDOI

Irinotecan Upregulates Fibroblast Growth Factor Receptor 3 Expression in Colorectal Cancer Cells, Which Mitigates Irinotecan-Induced Apoptosis.

TL;DR: It is indicated that targeting FGFR3 can be a promising strategy to enhance IRI response in CRC patients and acted synergistically with the chemotherapeutic drug and significantly enhanced IRI-induced caspase 3 activity in vitro.
Journal ArticleDOI

Ruthenium–arene complexes bearing naphthyl-substituted 1,3-dioxoindan-2-carboxamides ligands for G-quadruplex DNA recognition

TL;DR: Improvements on the hydrolytic stability of ruthenium arene complexes are shown, by substituting the chlorido leaving ligand with pyridine, have a dramatic impact on their interaction with quadruplexes and on their cytotoxicity against ovarian cancer cells.
Journal ArticleDOI

Targeting a Targeted Drug: An Approach Toward Hypoxia-Activatable Tyrosine Kinase Inhibitor Prodrugs.

TL;DR: Significant differences in the impact of structural modifications on drug binding to the enzymes were revealed and proof of principle could be shown for this concept, and the results obtained are an important basis for the future development of tyrosine kinase inhibitor prodrugs.
Journal ArticleDOI

Impact of terminal dimethylation on the resistance profile of α-N-heterocyclic thiosemicarbazones

TL;DR: In this article, a new cell model with acquired resistance against the lead compound KP1089 was established, which suggests that terminal dimethylation of thiosemicarbazones leads to altered resistance profiles.
