Genome-wide association of early-onset myocardial infarction with single nucleotide polymorphisms and copy number variants.

Sekar Kathiresan, +118 more
- 08 Feb 2009 -
TL;DR: SNPs at nine loci were reproducibly associated with myocardial infarction, but tests of common and rare CNVs failed to identify additional associations with my Cardiovascular Infarction risk.
Journal ArticleDOI

Family History as a Risk Factor for Primary Cardiac Arrest

TL;DR: Family history of MI or PCA is positively associated with the risk of primary cardiac arrest, and this association is mostly independent of familial aggregation of other common risk factors.
Journal ArticleDOI

Genome-wide survey reveals predisposing diabetes type 2-related DNA methylation variations in human peripheral blood

TL;DR: A prospective study in an independent population cohort revealed significant hypomethylation of young individuals that later progressed to T2DM, relative to the individuals who stayed healthy, and suggests a novel mechanism by which early-onset, inter-individual methylation variation at isolated non-promoter genomic sites predisposes to T1DM.
Journal ArticleDOI

Sudden death and myocardial infarction in first degree relatives as predictors of primary cardiac arrest.

TL;DR: Findings suggest a potential role of familial factors related to both MI and SD in PCA, and stronger findings for a familial patterning of PCA were noted for early onset disease in cases and their relatives.
