Journal ArticleDOI
Definition of a fluorescence in-situ hybridization score identifies high- and low-level FGFR1 amplification types in squamous cell lung cancer
Hans-Ulrich Schildhaus,Lukas C. Heukamp,Sabine Merkelbach-Bruse,Katharina Riesner,Katja Schmitz,Elke Binot,Ellen Paggen,Kerstin Albus,Wolfgang Schulte,Yon-Dschun Ko,Andreas Schlesinger,Sascha Ansén,Walburga Engel-Riedel,Michael Brockmann,Monika Serke,Ulrich Gerigk,Sebastian Huss,Friederike Göke,Sven Perner,Khosro Hekmat,Konrad Frank,M. Reiser,Roland Schnell,Marc Bos,Christian Mattonet,Martin L. Sos,Martin L. Sos,Erich Stoelben,Jürgen Wolf,Thomas Zander,Reinhard Buettner +30 more
TL;DR: FGFR1 amplification is one of the most frequent therapeutically tractable genetic lesions in pulmonary carcinomas and might serve as a basis for identifying patients for ongoing and upcoming clinical trials.
Journal ArticleDOI
Clinical and Pathological Characteristics of KEAP1- and NFE2L2-Mutated Non-Small Cell Lung Carcinoma (NSCLC).
Rieke Frank,Matthias Scheffler,Sabine Merkelbach-Bruse,Michaela Angelika Ihle,Anna Kron,Michael Rauer,Frank Ueckeroth,Katharina König,Sebastian Michels,Rieke Fischer,Anna Eisert,Jana Fassunke,Carina Heydt,Monika Serke,Yon-Dschun Ko,Ulrich Gerigk,Thomas Geist,Britta Kaminsky,Lukas C. Heukamp,Mathieu Clément-Ziza,Reinhard Büttner,Jürgen Wolf +21 more
TL;DR: Both KEAP1- and NFE2L2-mutated NSCLC patients represent a highly heterogeneous patient cohort, both are associated with different histologies and usually are found together with other cancer-related, partly targetable, genetic aberrations.
Journal ArticleDOI
PIK3CA mutations in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC): Genetic heterogeneity, prognostic impact and incidence of prior malignancies
Matthias Scheffler,Marc Bos,Masyar Gardizi,Katharina König,Sebastian Michels,Jana Fassunke,Carina Heydt,Helen Künstlinger,Michaela Angelika Ihle,Frank Ueckeroth,Kerstin Albus,Monika Serke,Ulrich Gerigk,Wolfgang Schulte,Karin Töpelt,Lucia Nogova,Thomas Zander,Walburga Engel-Riedel,Erich Stoelben,Yon-Dschun Ko,Winfried Randerath,Britta Kaminsky,Jens Panse,Carolin Becker,Martin Hellmich,Sabine Merkelbach-Bruse,Lukas C. Heukamp,Reinhard Büttner,Jürgen Wolf +28 more
TL;DR: PIK3CA-mutated NSCLC represents a clinically and genetically heterogeneous subgroup in adenocarcinomas as well as in squamous cell carcinomas with a higher prevalence of these mutations in sqamous cell cancer.
Journal ArticleDOI
Assessing interactions between the associations of common genetic susceptibility variants, reproductive history and body mass index with breast cancer risk in the breast cancer association consortium: a combined case-control study.

Pharoah,Montserrat Garcia-Closas,Ellen L. Goode,Jenny Chang-Claude +92 more
TL;DR: The relative risks for breast cancer associated with the common susceptibility variants identified to date do not appear to vary across women with different reproductive histories or body mass index (BMI); the assumption of multiplicative combined effects for these established genetic and other risk factors in risk prediction models appears justified.
