Journal ArticleDOI
MHCII-Mediated Dialog between Group 2 Innate Lymphoid Cells and CD4+ T Cells Potentiates Type 2 Immunity and Promotes Parasitic Helminth Expulsion
Christopher J. Oliphant,You Yi Hwang,Jennifer A. Walker,Maryam Salimi,See Heng Wong,James M. Brewer,Alexandros Englezakis,Jillian L. Barlow,Emily Hams,Seth T. Scanlon,Graham S. Ogg,Padraic G. Fallon,Padraic G. Fallon,Andrew N J McKenzie +13 more
TL;DR: During transition to adaptive T cell-mediated immunity, the ILC2 and T cell crosstalk contributes to their mutual maintenance, expansion and cytokine production and identifies a previously unappreciated pathway in the regulation of type-2 immunity.
Journal ArticleDOI
Transcription factor RORα is critical for nuocyte development
See Heng Wong,See Heng Wong,Jennifer A. Walker,Helen E. Jolin,Lesley F Drynan,Emily Hams,Ana Camelo,Jillian L. Barlow,Daniel R. Neill,Daniel R. Neill,Veera Panova,Ute Koch,Freddy Radtke,Clare S. Hardman,You Yi Hwang,Padraic G. Fallon,Padraic G. Fallon,Andrew N J McKenzie +17 more
TL;DR: It is found that nuocytes arose in the bone marrow and differentiated from common lymphoid progenitors, which indicates they are distinct, previously unknown members of the lymphoid lineage.
Journal ArticleDOI
Rhinovirus-induced IL-25 in asthma exacerbation drives type 2 immunity and allergic pulmonary inflammation
Janine Beale,Janine Beale,Janine Beale,Annabelle Jayaraman,Annabelle Jayaraman,Annabelle Jayaraman,David A. Jackson,Jonathan Macintyre,Michael R. Edwards,Michael R. Edwards,Ross P. Walton,Ross P. Walton,Ross P. Walton,Jie Zhu,Jie Zhu,Jie Zhu,Yee Man Ching,Yee Man Ching,Yee Man Ching,Betty Shamji,Matthew J. Edwards,John Westwick,David J. Cousins,David J. Cousins,You Yi Hwang,Andrew N. J. McKenzie,Sebastian L. Johnston,Nathan W. Bartlett,Nathan W. Bartlett,Nathan W. Bartlett +29 more
TL;DR: Asthmatic epithelial cells have an increased intrinsic capacity for expression of a pro–type 2 cytokine in response to a viral infection, and IL-25 is a key mediator of RV-induced exacerbations of pulmonary inflammation.
Journal ArticleDOI
Group 2 innate lymphoid cells license dendritic cells to potentiate memory TH2 cell responses
Timotheus Y.F. Halim,You Yi Hwang,Seth T. Scanlon,Habib Zaghouani,Natalio Garbi,Padraic G. Fallon,Padraic G. Fallon,Andrew N. J. McKenzie +7 more
TL;DR: It is demonstrated that group 2 innate lymphoid (ILC2) cells have a crucial role in memory TH2 cell responses, with targeted depletion of ILC2 cells profoundly impairing Th2 cell localization to the lungs and skin of sensitized mice after allergen re-challenge.
Book ChapterDOI
Innate Lymphoid Cells in Immunity and Disease
TL;DR: The recent advances in ILC development and their roles in immunity and disease are reviewed, with a primary focus on type 2 ILCs.
