Journal ArticleDOI
Nlrp9b inflammasome restricts rotavirus infection in intestinal epithelial cells
Shu Zhu,Siyuan Ding,Siyuan Ding,Penghua Wang,Zheng Wei,Wen Pan,Noah W. Palm,Yi-Hsuan Yang,Hua Yu,Hua-Bing Li,Geng Wang,Xuqiu Lei,Marcel R. de Zoete,Jun Zhao,Yunjiang Zheng,Haiwei Chen,Yujiao Zhao,Kellie A. Jurado,Ningguo Feng,Liang Shan,Yuval Kluger,Jun Lu,Clara Abraham,Erol Fikrig,Erol Fikrig,Harry B. Greenberg,Harry B. Greenberg,Richard A. Flavell,Richard A. Flavell +28 more
TL;DR: An important innate immune signalling pathway that functions in intestinal epithelial cells and may present useful targets in the modulation of host defences against viral pathogens is highlighted.
Journal ArticleDOI
The DNA Methylcytosine Dioxygenase Tet2 Sustains Immunosuppressive Function of Tumor-Infiltrating Myeloid Cells to Promote Melanoma Progression.
Wen Pan,Shu Zhu,Kun Qu,Katrina Meeth,Jijun Cheng,Jijun Cheng,Kaixin He,Hongdi Ma,Yan Liao,Xizhi Wen,Christine Roden,Christine Roden,Zuzana Tobiasova,Zheng Wei,Jun Zhao,Jun Liu,Jun Liu,Ji Zheng,Bo Guo,Sajid A. Khan,Marcus Bosenberg,Richard A. Flavell,Jun Lu,Jun Lu +23 more
TL;DR: A tumor‐promoting role for Tet2 is revealed, whereby Tet2 functions to sustain an immunosuppressive program in myeloid cells that in turn dampens the anti‐tumor T cell response.
Journal ArticleDOI
Characterization of Autoinducer-3 Structure and Biosynthesis in E. coli.
Chung Sub Kim,Alexandra Gatsios,Santiago Cuesta,Yick Chong Lam,Zheng Wei,Haiwei Chen,Regan M. Russell,Emilee E. Shine,Rurun Wang,Thomas P. Wyche,Grazia Piizzi,Richard A. Flavell,Noah W. Palm,Vanessa Sperandio,Jason M. Crawford +14 more
TL;DR: The structure and biosynthesis of autoinducer-3 (AI-3), a metabolite of previously unknown structure involved in the pathogenesis of enterohemorrhagic E. coli (EHEC), are defined and it is shown that the metabolites exert diverse immunological effects on primary human tissues.
Journal ArticleDOI
53BP1 and BRCA1 control pathway choice for stalled replication restart
Yixi Xu,Shaokai Ning,Zheng Wei,Ran Xu,Xinlin Xu,Mengtan Xing,Mengtan Xing,Rong Guo,Dongyi Xu +8 more
TL;DR: Two major fork restart pathways are described, and it is demonstrated that their selection is governed by 53BP1 and BRCA1, which are known to control the pathway choice to repair double-strand DNA breaks (DSBs).
Journal ArticleDOI
Sulfamethoxazole drug stress upregulates antioxidant immunomodulatory metabolites in Escherichia coli.
Hyun Bong Park,Zheng Wei,Joonseok Oh,Hao Xu,Chung Sub Kim,Chung Sub Kim,Rurun Wang,Thomas P. Wyche,Grazia Piizzi,Richard A. Flavell,Jason M. Crawford +10 more
TL;DR: It is shown that the colipterins are antioxidants, harbour diverse immunological activities in primary human tissues, activate anti-inflammatory interleukin-10 and improve colitis symptoms in a colitis mouse model.
