TL;DR: In this article, it was shown that any surjective isometry between the unit spheres of normed space E and C(Ω) can be extended to be a linear isometry on the whole space E, where Ω is a compact metric space.
Abstract: In this paper, we study the extension of isometries between the unit spheres of normed space E and C(Ω). We obtain that any surjective isometry between the unit spheres of normed space E and C(Ω) can be extended to be a linear isometry on the whole space E and give an affirmative answer to the corresponding Tingley’s problem (where Ω be a compact metric space).

TL;DR: The catalytic system was also suited well for the coupling reaction of benzyl halides with pyridyl aluminum reagents to afford series of p Pyridyl-arylmethane.
Abstract: An efficient method for synthesis of useful biaryl building blocks containing 2-thienyl, 3-thienyl, 2-pyridyl, and 3-pyridyl moieties was provided through cross-coupling reactions of aryl bromides or benzyl halides with heteroaryl aluminum reagents in the presence of Pd(OAc)2 and (o-tolyl)3P. The coupling reaction also worked efficiently with heteroaryl bromides affording series of heterobiaryl compounds. The reaction of phenylbromide with in situ prepared 3-pyridyl aluminum was demonstrated to afford the product 8a in high yield. Additionally, the catalytic system was also suited well for the coupling reaction of benzyl halides with pyridyl aluminum reagents to afford series of pyridyl-arylmethane.

TL;DR: Porous SnO2 cubes and rods were obtained by a facile chemical solution route combined with subsequent calcination and an acid-washing process as discussed by the authors, which can significantly facilitate gas diffusion and mass transportation in sensing materials.
Abstract: Porous SnO2 cubes and rods were obtained by a facile chemical solution route combined with subsequent calcination and an acid-washing process. Techniques of X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy, thermogravimetric-differential thermalgravimetric analysis, transmission electron microscopy, and Brunauer–Emmett–Teller N2 adsorption–desorption analyses were used to characterize the structure and morphology of the products. The process of inducing porosity starts with a crystalline single-phase hydroxide precursor CuSn(OH)6 formed by the co-precipitation of the metal ions from aqueous solution. Thermal decomposition of the precursors leads to an intimate mixture of CuO and porous tetragonal SnO2. The porous SnO2 3D architectures are obtained after the CuO particles are removed by acid-washing. A decomposition–aggregation–dissolution process is proposed to demonstrate the formation of such a special structure. Furthermore, gas sensing properties of the as-prepared porous SnO2 3D architectures were investigated using toluene and formaldehyde as the representative target gases. The porous SnO2 3D architectures exhibit excellent sensing performances due to the high porosity and 3D morphology, which can significantly facilitate gas diffusion and mass transportation in sensing materials. This work further hints that this new facile and economical approach can be extended to synthesize other porous metal oxide materials with a unique morphology or shape.

TL;DR: Direct oxidative nucleophilic substitution of the 3-hydrogen of B ODIPY dyes by pyrrole has been developed under reflux condition under oxygen, from which a series of pyrrolyldipyrrinato BF(2) complexes 1a-h, as extended BODIPYs, have been synthesized.
Abstract: Direct oxidative nucleophilic substitution of the 3-hydrogen of BODIPY dyes by pyrrole has been developed under reflux condition under oxygen, from which a series of pyrrolyldipyrrinato BF2 complexes 1a–h, as extended BODIPYs, have been synthesized. Most of these BODIPYs show strong fluorescence emissions at wavelengths over 600 nm in six solvents of different polarity. Removal of the BF2 group from BODIPY 1e gave the corresponding free base pyrrolyldipyrrin 7 as an analog of the natural product prodigiosin, in high yield.

TL;DR: In this paper, an in situ strategy has been developed to directly grow Au nanoparticles (NPs) on the surfaces of Cu2O nanocubes by exposing them to diluted HAuCl4 solution at room temperature.
Abstract: An in situ strategy has been developed to directly grow Au nanoparticles (NPs) on the surfaces of Cu2O nanocubes by exposing Cu2O nanocubes to diluted HAuCl4 solution at room temperature. The sensing performances of the Cu2O nanocubes toward ethanol and acetone improved significantly after the growth of the Au NPs.
