TL;DR: A drawer window is an opened window that a user has dragged down to a drawer region at the bottom of the screen such that only the title bar or some drawer handle illustration is left showing as discussed by the authors.
Abstract: A window management mechanism allows a user to open a window as a drawer or, perhaps more appropriately named, a pop-up window. The drawer is an opened window that a user has dragged down to a drawer region at the bottom of the screen such that only the title bar or some drawer handle illustration is left showing. When the user does this, the window remains open but is kept offscreen. The user may momentarily pop the window back onto the screen by clicking on the window title bar or drawer handle, or by dragging the cursor into the window icon during a drag. The window stays onscreen as long as no other windows are selected. As soon as a user selects another window, or opens a file with a double click within the drawer, the window slides back offscreen. This allows the user to set up easy access windows. Another feature of a drawer window allows the user to open them during a drag. To do so, the user drags an object or the cursor into the drawer window that is desired to be opened. When the cursor touches the bottom of the screen, or an area within a threshold of the bottom of the screen, the drawer window slides open a notch at a time. As long as the user pushes against the bottom or remains in this threshold region, the drawer slides open.

TL;DR: A magnetic latch for a display of a laptop computer is disclosed in this paper, which uses magnetic attraction to maintain the display closed and uses magnetic repelling forces to pop-up the display when opened.
Abstract: A magnetic latch for a display of a laptop computer is disclosed. The latch uses magnetic attraction to maintain the display closed and uses magnetic repelling forces to pop-up the display when opened. The latch includes one or more magnetic elements in the body of the laptop and at least one magnetic element in the display. When the display is closed, the magnet element in the display is positioned adjacent the magnet element in the body having an opposite polarity so that the magnet elements are attracted to one another. To pop-up the display, the user moves the magnetic element in the display so that it meets the magnetic pole in the body having the same polarity. When these meet, the repelling force between them causes the display to open slightly so that a user can then readily open the display.

TL;DR: PyDial is an opensource end-to-end statistical spoken dialogue system toolkit which provides implementations of statistical approaches for all dialogue system modules and has been extended to provide multidomain conversational functionality.
Abstract: Statistical Spoken Dialogue Systems have been around for many years. However, access to these systems has always been difficult as there is still no publicly available end-to-end system implementation. To alleviate this, we present PyDial, an opensource end-to-end statistical spoken dialogue system toolkit which provides implementations of statistical approaches for all dialogue system modules. Moreover, it has been extended to provide multidomain conversational functionality. It offers easy configuration, easy extensibility, and domain-independent implementations of the respective dialogue system modules. The toolkit is available for download under the Apache 2.0 license.

TL;DR: In this article, a gate driver circuit for switching gate line voltage supplies between display and touch modes is disclosed, which can include one or more switches configured to switch the gate lines of an integrated touch sensitive display between a display mode and a touch mode.
Abstract: A gate driver circuit for switching gate line voltage supplies between display and touch modes is disclosed. The circuit can include one or more switches configured to switch one or more gate lines of an integrated touch sensitive display between a display mode and a touch mode. During touch mode, the circuit can be configured to switch the gate lines to connect to a more stable voltage supply. The circuit can also be configured to reduce or eliminate interference from the display circuitry to the touch circuitry that could affect touch sensing. During display mode, the circuit can be configured to switch the gate lines to connect to a fluctuating voltage supply.

TL;DR: In this article, a system or program determines an incidence of co-occurrence of pairs of individual media items in different program participants' media libraries and assigns a similarity rating based on this determination.
Abstract: Methods and arrangements for facilitating media playlist generation for a program participant based at least in part on media library inventory information provided by a number of program participants. The system or program in which the individuals are participating is an on-line media store. Those individuals that decide to be program participants are interested in organizing, maintaining and playing their music, based at least in part, on data derived from a population of other participants in the program that have similar or the same music in their libraries. To be a program participant, the individual music holder must send, and the on-line music store receive, data representative of that program participant's media inventory. This data typically contains identification data of the individual media items presently contained in that participant's media library regardless of the individual media item's source. The system or program determines an incidence of co-occurrence of pairs of individual media items in different program participants' media libraries. Based on this determination, a similarity rating is assigned between the pairs of individual media items based on the determined incidence of co-occurrence in the different program participants' media libraries.
