TL;DR: In this article, the first and second antennas of an electronic device are coupled to the global ground using electrical paths or through near-field electromagnetic coupling to reduce the magnitude of free-space interference signals.
Abstract: Antennas for electronic devices are provided. First and second antennas may be mounted within an electronic device. Free-space coupling between the first and second antennas may give rise to interference. The first and second antennas may be coupled to a global ground. The global ground may be formed using a conductive member in the electronic device such as a conductive frame member. Signals that pass between the antennas through the global ground may serve as canceling signals that reduce the magnitude of free-space interference signals and thereby improve antenna isolation. The antennas may be coupled to the global ground using electrical paths or through near-field electromagnetic coupling. Coupling efficiency to the global ground may be enhanced by configuring the conductive traces of one or both of the antennas to form a resonant circuit.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors describe a data processing system including a data storage device having data stored on a data medium, a system electronics is operatively coupled to a sensor and to said data storage devices, and when the sensor senses a change in gravitational or inertial acceleration of a system, it alerts system electronics to temporarily park a read/write head in a safe position.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors proposed a data shifting capability that permits sorting the data in addition to searching for obtaining real-time performance in color, with high quality imagery through a simple search of a spatial database based on a rectangularly shaped search region or range search.
Abstract: The invention provides for a data shifting capability that permits sorting the data in addition to searching for obtaining real-time performance in color, with high quality imagery through a simple search of a spatial database based on a rectangularly shaped search region or range search (fig. 13). A sorting Magnitude Comparison Content Addressable Memory (SMCCAM) performs a range search, introducing a conservative approximation of the ideal Occluding Region, and provides a MCCAM wherein the data words stored in the fields is shifted to corresponding fields in an adjacent word, based on the magnitude comparisons (fig. 7). The 3D graphics method stores the parameters of a polygon span in a spatial database (804-814) and a query operation is performed on the database to determine which of those spans, or portions of spans, are visible (816 and 818), and applies a rule for comparing new span portion to an old span portion on a subspan-by-subspan basis, thereby providing additional polygon edge information within a raster line, providing anti-aliasing.

TL;DR: In this paper, a technique for displaying pixels of an image at arbitrary subpixel positions is presented. And interpolated intensity values for the pixels of the image are derived based on the arbitrary sub-pixel location and an intensity distribution or profile.
Abstract: A technique is provided for displaying pixels of an image at arbitrary subpixel positions. In accordance with aspects of this technique, interpolated intensity values for the pixels of the image are derived based on the arbitrary subpixel location and an intensity distribution or profile. Reference to the intensity distribution provides appropriate multipliers for the source image. Based on these multipliers, the image may be rendered at respective physical pixel locations such that the pixel intensities are summed with each rendering, resulting in a destination image having suitable interpolated pixel intensities for the arbitrary subpixel position.

TL;DR: In this article, a system for transferring images between devices is described, where differently scaled images by a host device may automatically and/or selectively be transferred to a media player for display.
Abstract: Methods and system for transferring images between devices is disclosed. For example, differently scaled images by a host device may automatically and/or selectively be transferred to a media player for display. In turn, appropriately scaled images may be transferred automatically and/or selectively to another display device for example a TV, camera or printer. The selectivity may occur either at the host level or at the player level.
