TL;DR: This study demonstrates a higher prevalence of OCD among a group of university students compared to other prevalence studies of OCD in Turkish society and suggest relationships between OCD and sociodemographic factors, as well as other environmental stress factors.
Abstract: Many students who begin university at risky periods for OCD development cannot meet the new challenges successfully. They often seek help and apply to the university health center for psychiatric distress. We aimed to determine the prevalence and associated factors of Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) at students of the Cukurova University in this cross sectional study. This study was performed in the Cukurova University Faculty of Education with a population of 5500 students; the representative sample size for detecting the OCD prevalence was calculated to be 800. After collecting sociodemographic data, we questioned the students for associated factors of OCD. The General Health Questionnaire-12 (GHQ-12) and Composite International Diagnostic Interview (CIDI, Section K) were used for psychiatric evaluation. Logistic regression analysis was performed to evaluate the linkage between OCD and associated factors. A total of 804 university students were included in this study. The GHQ-12-positive students (241 students, 29.9%) were interviewed using Section K of the CIDI (222 students, 27.6%). OCD was diagnosed in 33 (4.2%) students. The Logistic regression analysis of the data showed significant associations between OCD and male gender (p:0.036), living on government dormitory (p: 0.003), living on students' house/parental house (p:0.006), having private room in the parental house (p:0.055) and verbal abuse in the family (p:0.006). This study demonstrates a higher prevalence of OCD among a group of university students compared to other prevalence studies of OCD in Turkish society. Furthermore, our findings also suggest relationships between OCD and sociodemographic factors, as well as other environmental stress factors.

TL;DR: Test the accuracy of cut-off value of 0.08 by measurement of third molar index (I3M) in assessing legal adult age of 18 years in Turkey and found it is a useful method to assess if a subject is older than 18 years of age or not.

TL;DR: This work describes three cases in which more than 10 mm of distraction of mandibular basal bone was required andSemirigid distraction devices were used to reconstruct the alveolar structures in each case.
Abstract: Alveolar distraction is being used increasingly for alveolar bone reconstruction in patients with severe mandibular defects. When there has been total loss of alveolar bone, distraction of the mandibular basal bone is necessary. Distraction osteogenesis is considerably more challenging in mandibular basal bone than in alveolar bone. The low level of the cut increases the technical difficulty and may result in a poor outcome. We describe three cases in which more than 10 mm of distraction of mandibular basal bone was required. Semirigid distraction devices were used to reconstruct the alveolar structures in each case.

TL;DR: A 24-year-old primigravida with severe hypertriglyceridemia-induced pancreatitis during pregnancy was admitted in the 37th week of gestation with severe abdominal pain, which was radiating to the back, and having uterine contractions.
Abstract: Chylomicronemia syndrome is a rare disorder characterized by the presence of chylomicrons in the fasting state. An acute and potentially life-threatening complication of chyiomicronemia syndrome is severe acute pancreatitis. We report a case of a 24-year-old primigravida with severe hypertriglyceridemia-induced pancreatitis. We reviewed the clinical course and treatment of hypertriglyceridemia-induced pancreatitis. She was admitted in the 37th week of gestation with severe abdominal pain, which was radiating to the back, and having uterine contractions. Cesarean delivery was performed under spinal anesthesia, and a healthy male infant was born. Intraoperative findings included milky peritoneal fluid collection. Elevated pancreatic enzymes with significant hypertriglyceridemia (10,092 mg/dL) suggesting acute pancreatitis were also found on chemical analysis. The diagnosis of acute pancreatitis was confirmed by computed tomography scan. Treatment with continuous intravenous insulin--glucose, cessation of oral intake, and nasogastric decompression--dramatically decreased the triglyceride levels to 608 mg/dL within five days. She was discharged as symptom free with strict dietary intervention after 10 days. Intravenous insulin is a low-cost and effective alternative treatment in hypertriglyceridemia-induced pancreatitis during pregnancy. To our knowledge, such a high triglyceride level has not previously been reported in pregnancy.
