TL;DR: Not classic variants of Willi’s circle, fibromuscular dysplasia of the medial type and atherosclerotic changes of vessel walls contributes to aneurysm occurrence in cerebral vessels.
Abstract: The aimof the study is to define of variants of the Willi’s circle and also structural features of the vessel walls at the site of aneurysm location in people who died from aneurysms in the dead from their rupture to identify risk groups for cerebrovascular disease.Material and methods. The structure of cerebral vessels of 8 people at the age from 17 to 69 of both sexes who died from subarachnoid hemorrhage of aneurysmal genesis was examined due to macro-microscopical and clinical methods. Histology slides of cerebral arterial walls of aneurysm area were stained with hematoxylin-eosin and Mallory’s technique and then were examined.Results. Variants of the Willi’s circle and morphological features of vessel walls located in aneurysm formation area in people who died from aneurysm rupture are shown in the articleConclusion. Not classic variants of Willi’s circle, fibromuscular dysplasia of the medial type and atherosclerotic changes of vessel walls contributes to aneurysm occurrence in cerebral vessels.

TL;DR: The development of DS in patients with T1DM is accompanied by poor glycaemic control and increased risk of hypoglycaemic episodes, and female sex and age over 40 years were associated with the presence of DS.
Abstract: The most common mental disorder in patients with diabetes mellitus (DM) is depression (DS). Despite the large number of papers about DS in DM, its prevalence in type 1 DM (T1DM) remains unclear. Aim. The aim of this study was to investigate the prevalence of DS in T1DM and its possible association with metabolic control disorders. Materials and Methods. The study included 163 patients with T1DM. The patients were aged 18?65 years, and the mean duration of T1DM was 11.18 years (range 4.28?22.33 years). The control group included 75 apparently healthy individuals. The subjects underwent physical examination, and the standard self-report Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale questionnaire was administered to evaluate the level of anxiety and DS. Psychological counselling was conducted to diagnose DS and its severity. The continuous glucose monitoring system (CGMS) was used to monitor interstitial fluid glucose levels. Statistical analysis was conducted using SPSS Statistics 17.0 and StatSoft Statistica 6.0. Results. The prevalence of DS among the patients with T1DM was much higher (approximately two-fold) than the prevalence among the healthy individuals. Female sex and age over 40 years were associated with the presence of DS. Conclusion. The development of DS in patients with T1DM is accompanied by poor glycaemic control and increased risk of hypoglycaemic episodes.

Abstract: Background Stigma and discrimination are barriers to effective HIV treatment and care in Belarus. Results of the Stigma Index Survey conducted among people living with HIV (PLHIV) reveal that 40.5% of respondents experienced disclosure of their diagnosis and confidentiality breach by health care workers (HCW); 15.5% were refused medical care.

TL;DR: The study demonstrates high levels of patient acceptability and treatment adherence using TICVAP with reasonable level of safety and can promote this approach for further expansion in programmatic settings.
Abstract: Totally implantable central venous access ports (TICVAP) have long been routinely used in cancer chemotherapy. During M/XDR-TB treatment TICVAP can be used in order to avoid daily intramuscular or intravenous injections through peripheral veins over a period of several months. The studies on feasibility and safety of TICVAP in M/XDR-TB treatment are lacking. The aim of the study is to evaluate feasibility and safety of TICVAP use for M/XDR-TB treatment. Patients with confirmed M/XDR-TB who started treatment with regimens containing carbapenems and/or second line injectables were enrolled. TICVAP feasibility was assessed, complications were recorded and analyzed. Between 1 June 2015 and 1 December 2016, 54 TICVAPs were implanted in 52 patients: median age 32 years (range: 14-65); 38(70%) male; 40(74%) previously treated; 5(9%) HIV co-infected. The following veins were used as route: right (34) and left (7) subclavian, right (6) and left (5) jugular; right femoral (2). Seven complications were observed, 5(9%) - required removal, 2(4%) TICVAPs were re-implanted: pneumothorax -1 (pleural tube -1); lumen occlusion -2 (removal -2 and re-implantation -2), pocket and tunnel infection -2 (removal -2), TICVAP-related venous thrombosis -2 (removal -1, anticoagulant therapy -1). All complications were resolved without consequences. Majority of patients 49(94%) and health care practitioners reported advantage of TICVAP over the other types of venous access and intramuscular injections. Conclusions: The study demonstrates high levels of patient acceptability and treatment adherence using TICVAP with reasonable level of safety. The experience gained can promote this approach for further expansion in programmatic settings.

TL;DR: It was concluded that mebendazole amplifies the LPP in rat’s blood, raising compensatory-adaptive reactions of the host organism and reducing the rate of the experimental animal's mortality.
Abstract: To enhance the effect of treatment method of Trichinellosis with mebendazole, lipid peroxidation processes (LPP) in blood of Wistar rats experimentally infected with Trichinella spiralis were investigated. In accordance with health condition of infected rats treated with mebendazole and combination of mebendazole and AKβ vitamin complex, dynamics of the main values of the LPP (such as: activity of superoxide dismutase (SOD) and catalase (CAT) in erythrocytes and malonic dialdehyde (MDA) concentration in blood serum) were analyzed. It was concluded that mebendazole amplifies the LPP in rat’s blood. Additional administrations of the AKβ vitamin complex allow improvement of LPP parameters, raising compensatory-adaptive reactions of the host organism and reducing the rate of the experimental animal’s mortality.
