01 Jan 2021TL;DR: In this article, the authors analyzed the Normalized Difference Snow Index (NDSI) for showing snow cover delineation area and normalized difference Vegetation Index (NDVI) for vegetation coverage delineation.
Abstract: The Uttarakhand glaciers have been melting over the last half of a century. Local climatic variation has influenced the glacier retreat but these phenomena do not appear to affect the glacier health over long period of time. The increased availability of geospatial technology, global coverage and very low financial costs allows for fast, semi-automated, and cost-effective assessment of changes in glacier parameters over large areas. Geospatial technology allow for regular monitoring of the properties of Uttarakhand glaciers such as terminus position and ice extent from which glacier mass balance can be inferred. Geospatial technology is the only technique that can help to determine it using different platform like space-borne and air-borne sensors. The basic semantic characterization of geospatial technology is primarily used for spectral characterization in Uttarakhand glacial and depicting snow and ice top. Semi-automated geospatial technique helps in processing all data collected from on-board and off-board systems. This research analyzed the Normalized Difference Snow Index (NDSI) for showing snow cover delineation area and Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI) for vegetation cover delineation. The study aim to refer the changes from 1994 to 2015 and detected for snow and vegetation changed over quarter of the century. The study will helps to determine glacier dynamics and its kinetic change rate and also useful to global level studies and snow change detection.

TL;DR: In this article, the effect of a washing process followed by frozen storage (3 months; −18°C) on the quality of minced pangas muscle was studied, and a previous washing step has led to a positive effect on fish quality according to marked decreases in expressible moisture (28%), volatile amines (25.7%), free fatty acids (24.5%), and thiobarbituric acid reactive substances (29%).
Abstract: This work focuses on the effect of a washing process followed by frozen storage (3 months; −18°C) on the quality of minced pangas muscle. A previous washing step has led to a positive effect on fish quality according to marked decreases in expressible moisture (28%), volatile amines (25.7%), free fatty acids (24.5%), and thiobarbituric acid reactive substances (29%). However, such indexes showed quality loss throughout the frozen storage. Amongst quality indexes, special attention should be given to the expressible moisture value and the water holding capacity, as being closely related to the gel-forming ability in order to obtain surimi-type commercial products.

TL;DR: In this article, a catla catla fish curry along with potato and peas packed in four-layered laminated retort pouch was processed in a steam/air mixture overpressure retort at 116C to three different F0 values of 5, 7 and 8 min.
Abstract: Catla (Catla catla) fish curry along with potato and peas packed in four-layered laminated retort pouch was processed in a steam/air mixture overpressure retort at 116C to three different F0 values of 5, 7 and 8 min. Time-temperature data were collected during heat processing using an Ellab Sterilization Monitoring System. Texture profiles such as hardness, springiness, gumminess and chewiness decreased as the F0 value increased. The L* values decreased whereas a* and b* values increased with increasing F0 values. Based on the commercial sterility, sensory evaluation, color and texture profile analysis, F0 value of 7 min and cook value of 124 min with a total process time of 55.61 min at 116C was found satisfactory for the development of Catla fish curry in retort pouches.
Practical Applications
Catla is a commercially important Indian major carp, with white flesh and medium fat content, offer an ideal choice as raw material for the development of ready-to-serve fish products such as fish curry in retort pouches for both domestic and international markets. Sterilization process optimized for ready-to-eat Northeast Indian style Calta fish curry in retort pouch and an F0 value of 7 min was acceptable to the panelists. The process optimized would be useful for commercial application.

17 Aug 2017TL;DR: Improvement with respect to corneal opacity took 6 weeks of time and the animal was followed up to 3 months without any recurrence and Haemato-biochemical parameters took nearly 14 days of time to return to near normal levels.
Abstract: The present report communicates a case of canine trypanosomosis with ophthalmic involvement, its diagnosis, hemato-biochemistry and therapeutic management in a 2 year old dog. The dog had history of bilateral corneal opacity and impaired vision since last 4 weeks. On the basis of history and clinical signs, a presumptive diagnosis of canine trypanosomosis was made followed by confirmation with Giemsa stained buffy coat smear examination. Therapeutic regimen was comprised of Diminazine aceturate @ 3.5 mg/kg deep IM for two occasions 24 h apart along with parenteral fluids, hematinics, NSAID and multivitamins which yielded favourable response by third day post-therapy. Haemato-biochemical parameters took nearly 14 days of time to return to near normal levels. Improvement with respect to corneal opacity took 6 weeks of time and the animal was followed up to 3 months without any recurrence.

TL;DR: The AMMI analysis revealed that G13, G14, G12, G2, G23, G16 and G9 had wide adaptation and not be affected by the Genotype x environment interaction (GxE); hence mayyieldedgood across the environments.
Abstract: In the present investigation with 24 lentil genotypes, first two Principal components revealed more than 90 per cent of the variability for the yield which indicates that G and GE together accounted for more than 10 per cent of total variability. Based on the present analysis of using GGE biplot models, considering simultaneous mean yield and stability, the genotypes G4, G12, G6, G13 and G2 were relatively stable in all the environments. The environment E1(Berthin) was discriminative (informative). This environment contributed most to the variability in grain yield. Hence, GGE biplot method is suitable to discriminate the genotypes based on their stable and instability nature across the environments. The AMMI analysis revealed that G13, G14, G12, G2, G23, G16 and G9 had wide adaptation and not be affected by the Genotype x environment interaction (GxE); hence mayyieldedgood across the environments. E2 and E3 could be considered as good selection sites for identifying broad based and most adaptable lentil genotypes. This study has clearly and by far aided in identification of stable and superior genotypes in graphical representation.
