TL;DR: This work studies the problem of suppliers’ selection in the presence of uncertain fluctuations of currency exchange rates and price discounts and addresses both the supplier selection and purchased quantity decision of a buyer with multiple sites.

TL;DR: A dynamic grouping maintenance strategy for multi-component systems with positive economic dependence implies that combining maintenance activities is cheaper than performing maintenance on components separately, and a new algorithm is proposed to optimally update online the grouped maintenance planning by taking into account the maintenance opportunities.

Abstract: Hybrid coding techniques have been proposed recently to improve the coding capacity of chipless RF identification (RFID) tag. This paper examines the possibility to code information thanks to the magnitude level of the radar cross section (RCS) in addition to the more classical technique of frequency position (FP). Single-layer tags based on C-folded dipoles are designed to have different magnitude levels. A magnitude span of up to 15.2 dB is obtained for coupled resonators. A magnitude resolution of 3.5 dB is evaluated for practical applications based on the measurement of the realized tags in different configurations. The problem of tags applied to an unknown object is considered and a compensation technique is proposed for an object similar to a thin dielectric plate.

TL;DR: In this paper, an initial study of the implementation of two new enzymes, an endoglucanase and a concoction of hemicellulases and pectinases to obtain cellulosic nanoparticles was conducted.
Abstract: This paper is an initial study of the implementation of two new enzymes, an endoglucanase and a concoction of hemicellulases and pectinases to obtain cellulosic nanoparticles. In this study, curaua and sugarcane bagasse were dewaxed and bleached prior to enzymatic action for 72 h at 50 °C, and then followed by sonication. The concentration between these two enzymes was varied, and for the concentrations and time of enzymatic treatment used, subsequent sonication was necessary for cellulose nanoparticle release. It was easier to extract cellulose nanofibers from sugarcane bagasse which resulted in nanoparticles without damage of cellulose chains. On the other hand, curaua fibers needed a higher concentration of enzymes and the nanofibers obtained displayed a decrease of crystallinity suggesting that the cellulose structure was compromized. For both fibers, cellulose nanocrystals (single crystals) and larger diameter nanofibers were attained after the sonication.
