TL;DR: In this article, the structural transformation and electrochemical mechanism of layered MnO2 during cycling were investigated for zinc-ion battery performance improvement, and they found that during initial cycles, the electrode was able to maintain its layered structure; however, after prolonged cycles, it completely transformed into an irreversible spinel structure.

TL;DR: Choi et al. as discussed by the authors investigated the differences in perceived risk between online shoppers and non-online shoppers, as well as online shoppers' perceived risk relating to two culturally different countries (i.e., Korea and the United States).
Abstract: This study investigates the perceived risk that has been considered as influencing the consumer purchase decision process during online shopping. For the purpose of this study, perceived risk is defined as the potential for loss in pursuing a desired outcome from online shopping. Specifically, this research investigates the differences in perceived risk between online shoppers and non-online shoppers, as well as online shoppers’ perceived risk relating to two culturally different countries (i.e., Korea and the United States). The results indicate that the perceived risk is higher for non- (or less-experienced-) online shoppers than for frequent online shoppers, and that both Korean and US Internet users have a similar aggregated degree of perceived risk toward online shopping, though there are significant relative differences in specific risk items (i.e., social, financial, time, and psychological risk), which reflect the existence of the cultural differences in response to the specific risk factors.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors used amorphous AlF3 as a new coating material to improve cycle performance and rate capability under a high cutoff voltage range of 4.5 and 4.6 V.
Abstract: Li[Ni 1/3 Co 1/3 Mn 1/3 ]O 2 powders were modified by coating their surface with amorphous AlF3 as a new coating material. The AlF 3 -coated Li[Ni 1/3 Co 1/3 Mn 1/3 ]O 2 electrode showed improved cycle performance and rate capability under a high cutoff voltage range of 4.5 and 4.6 V. AC impedance results showed that the AlF 3 -coated Li[Ni 1/3 Co 1/3 Mn 1/3 ]O 2 has stable charge transfer resistance (R ct ) regardless of the cycle number. Electron diffraction analysis also showed that no structural transition of the primary particles was observed for the AlF 3 -coated electrode. Electrochemical impedance spectroscopy and electron microscopy indicate that AlF 3 coating plays an important role of stabilizing the interface between cathode and electrolyte.

TL;DR: Bowl-like hybrid structures have been designed and fabricated by anchoring NiO nanosheets on flat carbon hollow particles as mentioned in this paper, and these unique NiO/carbon hybrid particles exhibit superior lithium storage properties in terms of high capacity, long term cycling stability and excellent rate capability.
Abstract: Bowl-like hybrid structures have been designed and fabricated by anchoring NiO nanosheets on flat carbon hollow particles. When evaluated as an anode material for lithium-ion batteries, these unique NiO/carbon hybrid particles exhibit superior lithium storage properties in terms of high capacity, long term cycling stability and excellent rate capability.

TL;DR: This study develops an OSS success model from a previous Information Systems success model incorporating the characteristics of OSS, and demonstrates that software quality and community service quality have significant effects on user satisfaction.
Abstract: Since the mid-1990s, there has been a surge of interest among academics and practitioners in open source software (OSS). While there is an abundance of literature on OSS, most studies on OSS success are either qualitative or exploratory in nature. To identify the factors that influence OSS success and establish generalizability, an empirical study measuring OSS success would enable OSS developers and users to improve OSS usage. In this study, we develop an OSS success model from a previous Information Systems success model incorporating the characteristics of OSS. Using the proposed model, we identify five determinants for OSS success as well as a number of significant relationships among these determinants. Our findings demonstrate that software quality and community service quality have significant effects on user satisfaction. Software quality and user satisfaction, in turn, have significant effects on OSS use. Additionally, OSS use and user satisfaction have significant effects on individual net benefits. This research contributes towards advancing theoretical understanding of OSS success as well as offering OSS practitioners for enhancing OSS success.
