TL;DR: One of the molecular mechanisms of tanshinone ⅡA against AS is to intervene the TLR4 /NF-κB in-flammatory signal pathway.
Abstract: Purpose To observe the influence of tanshinone ⅡA on the TLR4 /NF-κB inflammatory signal pathway in cultured human umbilical veins endothelial cells EA.hy926 induced by LPS,and to in-vestigate the molecular mechanism of tanshinone ⅡA against atherosclerosis(AS).Methods The human cells EA.hy926 were cultured in vitro.Observing the effect of low, middle, high dose of tanshinone ⅡA on EA.hy926 stimulated by LPS.The mRNA and protein expression of TLR4,NF-κB and TNF-α were tested by RT-PCR and Western blot method respectively. Results The mRNA and protein expression of TLR4、NF-κB and TNF-α were promoted significantly(P 0.05).Low dose of tanshinone ⅡA has no ob-vious difference of the expression from those of LPS stimulating group. However, middle and high dose of tanshinoneⅡ A could obviously inhibit the expression of TLR4,NF-κB and TNF-α(P 0.05).Conclu-sion One of the molecular mechanisms of tanshinone ⅡA against AS is to intervene the TLR4 /NF-κB in-flammatory signal pathway.

TL;DR: Anemarrhenae Rhizoma and the one processed with salt-water both can nourish kidney yin and clear asthenic fever.
Abstract: Objective:To compare the influences of Anemarrhenae Rhizoma and the one processed with salt-water on erythrocyte membrane Na +-K +-ATP enzyme activities in rats with hyperthyroidism and yin deficiency, and to clarify the nourishing yin principle by processed Anemarrhenae Rhizoma with salt waterMethod: SD rats, half male and half female, were randomly divided into control group, model group,Liuwei Dihuang Wan group(22 gkg-1),high dose Anemarrhenae Rhizoma group and the high dose group of Anemarrhenae Rhizoma processed with salt-water(2 gkg-1),low dose Anemarrhenae Rhizoma group and accordingly the one processed with salt-water group(1 gkg-1)Each rat was ig given thyroxine liquid 2 mL(125 gL-1) every morningControl group was ig given physiological salineThe treatment groups were ig given corresponding liquids(10 mLkg-1)each afternoonControl group and model group was ig given the same volume of salineContinuous treatment for three weeks and then the activity of erythrocyte membrane Na +-K +-ATP enzyme was determinedResult: Anemarrhenae Rhizoma and the one processed with salt-water could significantly reduce Na +-K +-ATP enzyme activity(P 005)In the low dose group, the effect for the one processed with salt-water was better, but the effect of the high dose groups appeared to be on the contraryConclusion: Anemarrhenae Rhizoma and the one processed with salt-water both can nourish kidney yin and clear asthenic fever

TL;DR: A short-term high strength ultraviolet radiation can cause the performance of skin photoaging and LSH has repair and protection effect on skin photo aging caused by ultraviolet light damage.
Abstract: Objective:To establish the animal model of skin photoaging as well as to study the protective effects of LSH.Methods:The high doses of UVB and UVA radiation in a short-term was used to establish the model. The zone of the model skin was smeared with the excipient LSH in the intermission which ultraviolet radiated every day. Results:Statistics showed the significant difference(P0.01)in contents(CAT、MDA、SOD、HyP、GSH-px)compared with the three groups:normal skin, treated region of LSH and ultraviolet radiation skin. Conclusion:A short-term high strength ultraviolet radiation can cause the performance of skin photoaging.LSH has repair and protection effect on skin photoaging caused by ultraviolet light damage.
