TL;DR: In this paper, a model based on a single NRRA measurement and further Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) measurements enables to investigate the trap limited hydrogen diffusion within a-Si:H.
Abstract: The diffusion of hydrogen within an hydrogenated amorphous silicon (a-Si:H) layer is based on a trap limited process. Therefore, the diffusion becomes a self-limiting process with a decreasing diffusion velocity for increasing hydrogen content. In consequence, there is a strong demand for accurate experimental determination of the hydrogen distribution. Nuclear resonant reaction analysis (NRRA) offers the possibility of a non-destructive measurement of the hydrogen distribution in condensed matter like a-Si:H thin films. However, the availability of a particle accelerator for NRR-analysis is limited and the related costs are high. In comparison, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) is also a common method to determine the total hydrogen content of an a-Si:H layer. FTIR spectrometers are practical table-top units but lack spatial resolution. In this study, an approach is discussed that greatly reduces the need for complex and expensive NRR-analysis. A model based prediction of hydrogen depth profiles based on a single NRRA measurement and further FTIR measurements enables to investigate the trap limited hydrogen diffusion within a-Si:H. The model is validated by hydrogen diffusion experiments during the post-hydrogenation of hydrogen-free sputtered a-Si. The model based prediction of hydrogen depth profiles in a-Si:H allows more precise design of experiments, prevents misinterpretations, avoids unnecessary NRRA measurements and thus saves time and expense. TL;DR: In this paper, the authors give algebraic independence results for the values of the classical theta-constants θα(mτ) and θβ(nτ) for any τ in the upper half-plane when e is an algebraic number.
Abstract: In the present work, we give algebraic independence results for the values of the classical theta-constants θ2(τ), θ3(τ), and θ4(τ). For example, the two values θα(mτ) and θβ(nτ) are algebraically independent over Q for any τ in the upper half-plane when e is an algebraic number, where m,n ≥ 1 are integers and α, β ∈ {2, 3, 4} with (m,α) 6= (n, β). This algebraic independence result provides new examples of transcendental numbers through some identities found by S. Ramanujan. We additionally give some explicit identities among the three theta-constants in particular cases.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors compared the efficiency of a mentoring concept and a teacher-centered format, both of which were implemented in the introductory study phase, and found that the increase of knowledge was comparable in the two groups.
Abstract: The present study compared the efficiency of a mentoring concept and a teachercentered format, both of which were implemented in the introductory study phase. The aspects tested were: development of key competences, mental stress and knowledge gain. The results show that the increase of knowledge was comparable in the two groups. Although students rated the classical format more positively, they experienced higher self-efficacy as an active learner in the mentoring format. In contrast to the teacher-centered format, the mental stress of the students in the mentoring format did not increase during the study term.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors present a MINLP for a pumping system for the drinking water supply of high-rise buildings, and investigate the influence of the granularity of the underlying physical models on the solution quality.
Abstract: Successful optimization requires an appropriate model of the system under consideration. When selecting a suitable level of detail, one has to consider solution quality as well as the computational and implementation effort. In this paper, we present a MINLP for a pumping system for the drinking water supply of high-rise buildings. We investigate the influence of the granularity of the underlying physical models on the solution quality. Therefore, we model the system with a varying level of detail regarding the friction losses, and conduct an experimental validation of our model on a modular test rig. Furthermore, we investigate the computational effort and show that it can be reduced by the integration of domain-specific knowledge.

TL;DR: The unique opportunities of databased community health promotion in cooperation with local community health authorities and the concept of transcultural community health nursing with vice versa information about health traditions and practices improves health services and care for the refugee population and the health-related communal culture in general.
Abstract: The unique opportunities of databased community health promotion in cooperation with local community health authorities are pointed out. Especially within the local refugee population many organisational and psychological obstacles to otherwise widely distributed health services are obvious. Population-focused community health practice involves home health care with interdisciplinary collaboration, and promotes clients's responsibility and self-care. Health promotion depends on communal health reporting focused on specific needs of subpopulations. Health and population data concerning the refugees in Muenster show a considerably higher proportion of children than among the general population of the town, thus indicating special needs for the paediatric care of this group. Communal data concerning health-relevant indicators such as vaccination rates or routine paediatric checkup coverage illustrate the necessity for improving low levels of health care for the communal refugee population. The concept of transcultural community health nursing with vice versa information about health traditions and practices improves health services and care for the refugee population and the health-related communal culture in general.
