TL;DR: Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed RABC algorithm can search for multiple thresholds which are very close to the optimal ones examined by the exhaustive search method.
Abstract: In this paper to compute optimum thresholds for Maximum Tsallis entropy thresholding (MTET) model, a new hybrid algorithm is proposed by integrating the Artificial Bee Colony Optimization (ABC) with the Powell’s conjugate gradient (PCG) method. Here the ABC with improved perturbation mechanism (IPM) will act as the main optimizer for searching the near-optimal thresholds while the PCG method will be used to fine tune the best solutions obtained by the ABC in every iteration. This new multilevel thresholding technique is called the Refined Artificial Bee Colony Optimization (RABC) algorithm for MTET. Experimental results over multiple images with different range of complexities validate the efficiency of the proposed technique with regard to segmentation accuracy, speed, and robustness in comparison with other techniques reported in the literature. The experimental results demonstrate that the proposed RABC algorithm can search for multiple thresholds which are very close to the optimal ones examined by the exhaustive search method.

TL;DR: Comprehensive study on the various DR detection algorithms and their performance metrics has been discussed in this paper.
Abstract: Diabetes is a chronic disease that is found common nowadays among the working age groups. Diabetes affects various organs of human. Diabetic retinopathy (DR) is a disease which affecting the human eye leading to vision impairment caused by diabetes mellitus. No medication is still available to cure DR but can be controlled. Hence, there exists lot of literatures in detecting the DR automatically. Comprehensive study on the various DR detection algorithms and their performance metrics has been discussed in this paper.

TL;DR: In this paper, a new synthetic route of quinolone fused 1,4-dipyrimidines by the reaction of 6-methyl-4-hyrdoxyquinolin-2(1H)-one (1), substituted aromatic aldehydes (2a-g) with phenyl urea (3).
Abstract: Compounds having quinolone and pyrimidine skeleton plays an important role in the medicinal chemistry. The objective of the present work was to modify the Biginelli reaction by using heterocylic ketones under microwave condition. We have demonstrated new synthetic route of quinolone fused 1,4-dipyrimidines by the reaction of 6-methyl-4-hyrdoxyquinolin-2(1H)-one (1), substituted aromatic aldehydes (2a-g) with phenyl urea (3). The structure of these newly synthesized compounds was characterized IR, NMR, Mass spectral and elemental analysis.

TL;DR: The system that is proposed consists of a module with an ESP8266 microcontroller, ultrasonic sensor and GPS module that are fixed in the trash cans, which prevents congestion in database by reducing the number of uncertain entries.
Abstract: The improvement in technology has resulted in a drastic increase in waste and unwanted products by the industries and other sectors of production as well as residences. This situation prompts the need of better waste management systems in and around the cities. The system that is proposed consists of a module with an ESP8266 microcontroller, ultrasonic sensor and GPS module that are fixed in the trash cans. The ultrasonic sensor constantly monitors the level of trash in the cans. When the trash in the can reaches a certain level, it is sensed by the ultrasonic sensor and updated in the cloud through Wi-Fi along with the location from the GPS module. The coordinates are accessed from cloud by Raspberry Pi microcontroller through Wi-Fi, Top k-query scheduling is applied to the values to stabilize the data sets based on a threshold value and then stores these values in a table created in MySQL database. Thus scheduling prevents congestion in database by reducing the number of uncertain entries. A webpage is designed to access the locations in the MySQL table using php code which then plots the locations on a map. From the experimental results it can also be observed that the webpage dynamically calculates and displays the shortest route between the points.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors compared polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) and polyflux 6H and found that PVDF and Polyflux are superior in different aspects.
Abstract: Artificial kidney (Dialyzer) is used for removal of wastes in case of renal failure. In India 17 percentage of people are being affected by end stage renal disease. So filtration of nitrogenous waste is carried out by the process of dialysis. In dialysis, reduction of accumulation of waste products, water and regulation of blood concentrations are performed by dialyzer (semipermeable membrane). The efficiency of dialysis is determined by the characteristics of semi permeable membrane. The ideal membrane should posses high permeability to water, organic metabolities, ions and should retain plasmaprotein. Dialysis membranes PVDF (Polyvinylidene Fluoride) and Polyflux are proven to be the superior in different aspects. In this work PVDF and Polyflux 6H will be compared and most appropriate of these two will be suggested. The comparision are implemented using finite element COMSOL Multiphysics 4.2a.
