01 Jan 2021TL;DR: In this paper, a median filter is implemented in Xilinx Vivado 2016.4 software, and the performance analysis is carried out using Cadence 90 nm technology and with the supply voltage of 0.9 V. The median filter was designed based on the sorting methods; here, it makes use of a nonconventional algorithm where entire sorting of data is not required.
Abstract: The proposed work represents the hardware design and implementation of a median filter that uses architecture, which produces median results hierarchically once data in the sliding window is completely available. The median filter was designed based on the sorting methods; here, it makes use of a non-conventional algorithm where entire sorting of data is not required. The proposed three-value sorter where the parallel comparison of data is done is the fastest method as compared to other methods. The work is implemented in Xilinx Vivado 2016.4 software, and the performance analysis is carried out using Cadence 90 nm technology and with the supply voltage of 0.9 V. Area, power, and delay parameters of the implemented architecture for different filter sizes are computed. The hardware implementation of the median filter architecture is done by using Nexys4 DDR FPGA kit making use of block ROM, block RAM, and clocking wizard. Here, the entire operation is carried out at 25.132 MHz frequency.

01 Jan 2015TL;DR: The wastes generated from the healthcare units are hazardous and can cause delirious biological effects, which calls for a Common Integrated facility for treatment of these wastes.
Abstract: Health care is necessary for the sustenance of human life and well-being. But the waste generated from medical activities can be hazardous, toxic and even lethal because of their high potential for diseases transmission. The wastes generated from the healthcare units are hazardous and can cause delirious biological effects. In India there are an estimate of 2.7 lacs small scale healthcare units (which includes nursing homes, pathological laboratories, etc.).The waste generated collectively nears 63% of the total biomedical waste generated in India (On an annual basis). Most of the small scale units, do not have many departments/divisions and the generation of waste is small and normally they do not have treatment facility for the bio-medical waste due to financial incapability. Thus most of the units dump the waste along the municipal wastes. This can cause adverse effects such as providing waste dumping sites as breeding grounds for the microorganisms contained in the wastes (Biological test sample wastes). This issue calls for a Common Integrated facility for treatment of these wastes.

03 Jun 2021TL;DR: In this article, a survey on the combination of solar PV and wind used for the power generation and a suitable soft computing methodology is proposed for the improvement of Hybrid Power Generation (HPG) system.
Abstract: At present scenario, power generation plays a crucial roel in driving the global economy. The ability to generate the power without polluting the environment plays a major role in protecting the environment. The solution is to adopt green energy environment for incorporating better performance to control the pollution and fuel crisis. Nowadays, the load demand is rising instantaneously in commercial and industrial sector. To meet the load demand or to clip off the peak demand, a system needs to feed the grid with additional power. In order to deal with natural resources like sun, wind, biomass, or geothermal and balance the electricity loads, each sector is more likely to concentrate on building either stand-alone or grid-tied power. The grid-tied system supplies more electricity to the grid than a standalone system. Produced electricity has one challenge: It must be synchronized with the grid. The final difficulty would be to obtain the most resources from the integrated device. Recently, different approaches are being studied to use the green system's resources. There are some clean energy technologies available: Solar PV, power cell, hydro, fuel cell, and wind. Henceforth, it is necessary to choose which Hybrid Power Generation (HPG) is better to implement. TL;DR: In this paper, a novel ionic liquid catalyzed synthesis of 3-acetylpyrano[2,3-b]quinolin-2(1H)-ones (3a-e) from substituted 3-formylquinolin]-2( 1H)-one and ethyl acetoacetate (2) through Knoevenagel reaction was reported.
Abstract: Herein, a novel ionic liquid catalyzed synthesis of 3-acetylpyrano[2,3-b]quinolin-2(1H)-ones (3a-e)
from substituted 3-formylquinolin-2(1H)-ones (1a-e) and ethyl acetoacetate (2) through Knoevenagel
condensation is reported. We have perceived the application of microwave irradiation and ionic liquid
for carrying out pollution free and ecofriendly chemical reactions. These reactions proceeded much
faster in ionic liquid medium under microwave irradiation. The structures of quinoline derivatives
(3a-e) were characterized by standard physico-chemical techniques. The synthesized quinoline
derivatives (3a-e) were also evaluated for their in vitro antimicrobial screening on different strains of
bacteria and fungi.
