TL;DR: In this paper, the authors proposed a VM migration technique based on Modified Best Fit Decreasing (MBFD) algorithm and particle swarm optimization (PSO) to reduce the number of active racks so that energy conservation will be maximized.
Abstract: Cloud computing technology offers resources to the clients in pay as we use manner and changed the way how businesses utilize resources. It is capable of hosting a diverse of applications that executes from few seconds to several hours on shared hardware platform, but the data centers hording applications use enormous volumes of energy and contribute to ecological shortcomings like emission of carbon and result in global warming. High-energy consumption also increases the operational costs since it increases the number of cooling systems deployed to minimize the heat generated in the data center by physical servers. The virtualization technique has the ability to shift a VM among the available servers using live VM migration technique. Here the VMs are migrated to the appropriate servers to reduce the total number of running servers by Modified Best Fit Decreasing (MBFD) algorithm and particle swarm optimization (PSO), and they are finally consolidated into reduced number of servers. Also, this paper aims at minimizing the number of active racks so that energy conservation will be maximum.

TL;DR: In this paper, a smart controller is proposed to alleviate the power fluctuations in renewable energy system by using a mixture of bat search algorithm and artificial neural network (BSNN) in order to correct the constancy of HRES, error gathering of the system is reduced.
Abstract: This paper depicts a stout voltage control of grid connected of Renewable Energy System (RES) consists of Solar Energy, Wind Energy and Fuel Cell Technology. A smart controller is suggested to alleviate the power fluctuations. Here, the suggested controller achieves the mixture of Bat Search algorithm and artificial neural network (BSNN). In order to correct the constancy of HRES, error gathering of the system is to be reduced. Here, the bat search algorithm is recycled in the optimization reason to diminution the system error and accomplish the optimal power flow by legitimate tuning of PI parameters. Within the corresponding input time intervals of a day dataset, the ANN is trained using the target capacity. The performance of proposed technique is invoked in MATLAB/Simulink platform.

TL;DR: In this paper, a derived factor named Crash rate analysis is used to determine the number of ambulances required for the accident area to take up the recovery process, which is intended to provide better and faster lifesaving solutions for the road accidents.
Abstract: Nowadays, due to the exploding growth of vehicles which paves a way for the unusual population in the road traffic, accidents are becoming more and more common among people. There are various factors which causes accidents. This paper lists out the classification of accidents and various solutions provided to avoid accidents as well as to overcome from accidents when it is encountered. Classification of accidents includes accidents by pedestrians, cyclists, mass casualty and animal accidents. The various solutions to avoid as well as to overcome accidents include usage of smart phones, VANET and GSM along with GPS. The proposed solution detects the accident and sends ambulance to the accident area by the usage of sensors. In this paper a derived factor named Crash rate analysis is used to determine the number of ambulances required for the accident area to take up the recovery process. This work is intended to provide better and faster lifesaving solutions for the road accidents.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors have designed the My Vote App for users to register themselves as migrants and on the Election Day, migrants can cast their votes in migrated location polling booths through My Vote Web.
Abstract: The only national duty that every citizen has to perform is the voting. Some people do take it seriously and some don’t. Some were pushed to a situation where they are unable to cast their votes. One of the major situation addressed here is migration. Also there is a rule in election commission that the voting person has to be physically present during the time of voting. This paper proposes an alternate solution for migrants to cast their vote. The proposed research work has designed the My Vote App for users to register themselves as migrants. On the Election Day, migrants can cast their votes in migrated location polling booths through My Vote Web.

TL;DR: Simulation results demonstrate that the drip-based resource scheduling mechanism is effective in satisfying the users' diverse requirements by considering their priority and performs better in terms of resource utilisation rate and satisfies more users in the cloud system.
Abstract: Resource provisioning is the process of activating a bundle of allocated quantity of resources to bear the user requests. The scheduling algorithm plays a vital role in effective utilisation of resources, though resource allocation fails to achieve user satisfaction. To overcome this failure, Drip Irrigation-based Resource Allocation (DRA) scheduling algorithm is proposed to exploit the user priority on the basis of the reputation of the users who frequently request the resources. This algorithm works in three stages, namely resource selection, resource matching and drip-based resource allocation, where the unallocated requests are divided into smaller sub-tasks and limited available resources are allocated to them. Simulation results demonstrate that the drip-based resource scheduling mechanism is effective in satisfying the users' diverse requirements by considering their priority. Compared to the First Come First Serve (FCFS) and UFeed algorithms this performs better in terms of resource utilisation rate and satisfies more users in the cloud system.
