07 Nov 2012TL;DR: In this paper, the authors proposed a method for delivering information on a serving mobile switching center server for a user equipment between a first communication network and a second communication network. But this method is not suitable for wireless networks.
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for delivering information on a serving mobile switching centre server for a user equipment between a first communication network and a second communication network. The method comprises a step of requesting an attachment of the user equipment to the second communication network by signaling between the user equipment and a network node of the second communication network, the signaling comprising at least part of information on the mobile switching centre server serving the user equipment in the first communication network. Additionally, the invention relates to a user equipment and a network node implementing the aspects of the method.

17 May 2010TL;DR: The presented LCA-based method can be used when assessing the potential CO2 e emission reduction from introducing an ICT-based service and on the effects of introducing smart work solutions at TeliaSonera.
Abstract: The presented LCA-based method can be used when assessing the potential CO 2 e emission reduction from introducing an ICT-based service. The method was used to analyze the CO 2 e emissions from the communication networks in Sweden as well as on the effects of introducing smart work solutions at TeliaSonera. For TeliaSonera the CO 2 e reductions resulting from smart work sum up to about 40% per employee, or over 2.8 ton CO 2 e per employee and year. The total reduction potential due to smart work in the world was estimated to be 2 % – 4% of global CO 2 e emissions, if reductions of 20% – 40% can be achieved per employee in a 10 – 20 year timeframe.

TL;DR: In this paper, a cellular digital mobile telephone system to reduce the signalling load at location of just any mobile station in just any location area (LA, RA), at which the mobile phone system utilises GPRS-technology to reduce paging load.
Abstract: Method at a cellular digital mobile telephone system to reduce the signalling load at location of just any mobile station in just any location area (LA, RA), at which the mobile telephone system utilises GPRS-technology to reduce the paging load at location of said just any mobile station, at which said location area (LA, RA) is divided into just any number of smaller paging areas (PA), where a paging message is transmitted sequentially in said paging areas by a GPRS-controlled base station until said just any mobile station responds to said paging message.

19 May 2006TL;DR: In this paper, a domain name server is used to identify a name included in a session request as an Internet address related to a certain service and map the network element name to a specific IP address of the management domain of another network, the IP address corresponding to the access point of the service.
Abstract: A domain name server to be connected to a telecommunications network, the server comprising storage means for storing the names of the network elements constituting the management domain of the domain name server and the IP addresses corresponding to the names, and mapping means for mapping the received access point name to the stored network element IP address. The domain name server is arranged to identify a name included in a session request as an Internet address related to a certain service and map the network element name to a certain IP address of the management domain of another network, the IP address corresponding to the access point of the service. The invention enables provision of service to several separately managed networks by means of one service sub-system, which minimizes the amount of work required to establish and manage the hardware needed to provide service.

22 Aug 2011TL;DR: The paper suggests the usage of a business oriented security requirement profiles containing information security, privacy, fraud/abuse, resilience and assurance requirements, and the creation process for such reusable and adaptable profiles.
Abstract: Security requirement engineering for services is in practice frequently performed by security non-experts. For them the security requirements and their dependencies are not directly known. To mitigate this, the paper suggests the usage of a business oriented security requirement profiles (e.g. VoIP, IP-TV...) containing information security, privacy, fraud/abuse, resilience and assurance requirements. The criteria and the creation process for such reusable and adaptable profiles are shown. Then the requirement profiles are set in context with a development process. We show how to stepwise adjust the profile to the actual service needs at development stages where the budget and knowledge are available. Finally, experiences from real projects are presented.
