25 Jan 2013TL;DR: In this article, a method for determining a capability of a user equipment (110) is presented, where the user equipment is served by a non-shared network (120) in a first place.
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for determining a capability of a user equipment (110). The user equipment (110) is served by a non-shared network (120) in a first place. The non-shared network (120) is configured to transmit (210) a message to the user equipment (110), the message comprising information on at least two PLMN identities. The user equipment (110) is configured to deliver (220) a response message from which it is determined (220) if the response message comprises information field reserved for at least one PLMN identity in the transmitted message. On a basis of an existence of the information field in the response message it can be determined (230) that the user equipment (110) supports network sharing. In other case it is determined (230) that the user equipment (110) is not supporting network sharing. The invention also relates to a network node (115) and a system implementing at least part of the method as described.

11 Mar 2002TL;DR: In this article, a device at a mobile communication system (10) to establish of connection towards a public data communication network (12), identify mobile users (14) was introduced, where each call detail data record includes a connection between an address and a subscriber.
Abstract: The invention relates to a device at a mobile communication system (10) to, at establishing of connection towards a public data communication network (12), identify mobile users (14). The mobile communication system (10) includes at least one first node (16) for handling of packet switching and charging data, at least one second node (18) for establishing of connection to public data communication networks (12) and transmission/mediation of addresses. The communication system (10) in addition includes a third node (22) connected to said first node/nodes (16) and to said second node/nodes (18) for filtering and duplication of modified call detail data records, at which each call detail data record includes a connection between an address and a subscriber. The third node (22) distributed the modified call detail data records to one to the third node (22) connected first memory device (24), at which a mobile user (14) is identified by means of the first memory device (24) and one to said first node/nodes (16) connected second memory device (26) which stores subscriber information.

28 May 2007TL;DR: In this article, a method of using parallel media flows in a telecommunication system is presented, in which a controlling network element is involved to signalling between a primary user equipment of a first user and a primary users equipment of at least one second user.
Abstract: A method of using parallel media flows in a telecommunication system. A controlling network element is involved to signalling between a primary user equipment of a first user and a primary user equipment of at least one second user, and detects the capability of the primary user equipment of the second user to maintain two parallel media flows. If the capability does not exist in the primary user equipment of the second user, the network element amends the signalling such that capability of the primary user equipment of the second user to maintain two parallel media flows is indicated. A first media flow may be opened between the primary user equipment of the first user and the primary user equipment of the second user; and a second parallel media flow diverted to a secondary user equipment of the second user.

01 Jan 2005TL;DR: This paper compares some admission control algorithms for mixed packet switch and circuit switch traffic by simulating a hot spot scenario and finds a new algorithm achieves the best result.
Abstract: This paper studies admission control algorithms effect on capacity and QoS fairness between operators that share UMTS spectrum. We compare some admission control algorithms for mixed packet switch and circuit switch traffic by simulating a hot spot scenario. A new algorithm achieves the best result.
