TL;DR: In this article, Radiometric dating of supracrustal series and intrusive cycles point to a crustal creation history reaching back as far as the Mid-Proterozoic (1460±448 Ma: BELEN metabasalts; 1254+97/−94 Ma: CHOJA migmatite; 1213+28/−25; CHOJA orthogneiss).
Abstract: Ancient crystalline basement provinces are found only rarely in the North Chilean parts of the Central Andes and they show only diffuse structural similarities due to multiphase tectonic and metamorphic reworking. Radiometric dating of supracrustal series and intrusive cycles point to a crustal creation history reaching back as far as the Mid-Proterozoic (1460±448 Ma: BELEN metabasalts; 1254+97/−94 Ma: CHOJA migmatite; 1213+28/−25; CHOJA orthogneiss). The oldest rock records are of mostly low- to medium-grade metamorphic volcanic-clastic sequences with intrusive granitic pulses. High-grade metamorphic rocks occur only in few sites as granulitic gneisses and migmatites. Most of the radiometric data suggest various phases of metamorphic formation (Brazilian, Caledonian and Variscan events). Primary ages shown to be Mid-Proterozoic by the depositional events of basic to intermediate volcanic and volcanic-clastic rocks. Amphibolitic metabasalts are of primitive type, comparable to modern tholeiitic rocks of CFB (continental flood basalts) affinities. Shallow seated granitic bodies intruded the supracrustals during syn- to postkinematic stages of various orogenic cycles. The oldest intrusive cycles can be identified as "Brazilian", "Caledonian" and "Variscan" and vary in different provinces. The "Andean cycle" is responsable for the main tectonic kinematics and continuous magmatic pulses. The characteristics of granitic rocks vary only slightly. Geochemical data indicate complex magmatic systems with possible crustal contaminants (transition from WPG to VAG trace element affinities; Sri values from 0.7051 to 0.7062).

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors present cross-cultural data on a brief measure of precarious manhood beliefs (the Precarious Manhood Beliefs scale [PMB]) that covaries meaningfully with other cross-culturally validated gender ideologies and with country-level indices of gender equality and human development.
Abstract: Precarious manhood beliefs portray manhood, relative to womanhood, as a social status that is hard to earn, easy to lose, and proven via public action. Here, we present cross-cultural data on a brief measure of precarious manhood beliefs (the Precarious Manhood Beliefs scale [PMB]) that covaries meaningfully with other cross-culturally validated gender ideologies and with country-level indices of gender equality and human development. Using data from university samples in 62 countries across 13 world regions (N = 33,417), we demonstrate: (1) the psychometric isomorphism of the PMB (i.e., its comparability in meaning and statistical properties across the individual and country levels); (2) the PMB’s distinctness from, and associations with, ambivalent sexism and ambivalence toward men; and (3) associations of the PMB with nation-level gender equality and human development. Findings are discussed in terms of their statistical and theoretical implications for understanding widely-held beliefs about the precariousness of the male gender role.

TL;DR: Adverse Drug Reactions are common among hospitalized children and represent an additional burden of morbidity and risk, particularly in those who used several medicines, including antibiotics.
Abstract: Introduction: The occurrence of adverse drug reactions is an important issue due to the lack of drug safety data in children. Objective: To describe the Adverse Drug Reactions in inpatient children under 6 years of age in two general pediatrics wards located in Barranquilla, Colombia. Methods: A prospective cohort study based on intensive pharmacovigilance was conducted during six months in order to monitor the emergence of Adverse Drug Reactions in inpatients children under 6 years of age with at least one medication prescribed. The study was conducted in two pediatric wards of two hospitals located in Barranquilla, Colombia. Naranjo´s Algorithm was used to evaluate imputability, the modified Hartwig and Siegel assessment scale to establish severity and the Schumock and Thornton criteria to determine preventability. Results: Of a total of 772 monitored patients, 156 Adverse Drug Reactions were detected on 147 children. The cumulative incidence of Adverse Drug Reactions was 19.0% (147/772); the incidence density was 37.6 Adverse Drug Reactions per 1,000 patients-days (147/3,913). The frequency was higher in children under 2 years of age (12.7%). Emergence of Adverse Drug Reactions was higher in male patients (RR= 1.66; 95% CI= 1.22 to 2.22, p = 0.001) and in those who used systemic antibiotics (RR= 1.82; 95% CI= 1.17 to 2.82, p = 0.005). Conclusions: Adverse Drug Reactions are common among hospitalized children and represent an additional burden of morbidity and risk, particularly in those who used several medicines, including antibiotics.
