TL;DR: In this paper, a two-phase metaheuristic algorithm is proposed to solve the Capacitated Vehicle Routing Problem (CVRP) with a homogeneous fleet, where the first phase is based on heuristics and metaheuristics procedures.
Abstract: This paper presents an alternative procedure to solve the Capacitated Vehicle Routing Problem (CVRP) with homogeneous fleet. The paper proposes a two-phase metaheuristic algorithm: routes design and fleet scheduling. The first phase is based on heuristics and metaheuristics procedures in order to build an initial solution that is then improved using tabu search to obtain non-dominated solutions in polynomial computational time. For the second phase, corresponding to fleet scheduling, the problem is approached using an analogy with the identical parallel machine scheduling problem. This procedure looks for the minimization of the fixed cost of using installed capacity as the objective function. The proposed procedure was tested using both a random-generated instance and real data, giving competitive results in comparison with other heuristics tested.

TL;DR: These results are the first data in Colombia on the cytotoxic and genotoxic effects induced by continuous exposure to DEE and thus showed the usefulness of biomarkers of the comet, CBMN-Cyt and BM- Cyt assays for human biomonitoring and evaluation of cancer risk in the exposed populations.

TL;DR: In this paper, the process intensification abilities of gas-solid vortex units (GSVU) were investigated for gas-salt processes, and it was shown that much higher slip velocities can be achieved by working in a centrifugal force field.
Abstract: The process intensification abilities of gas–solid vortex units (GSVU) are very promising for gas–solid processes. By working in a centrifugal force field, much higher gas–solid slip velocities can...

TL;DR: The evolutionary history of the southern hemisphere plant genus Gunnera is infer, a lineage with a rich fossil history and an important ecological role as an early colonising species characteristic of wet, montane environments, which demonstrates the composite origin of a mega-diverse biota.
Abstract: Several studies have demonstrated the contribution of northern immigrants to the flora of the tropical Andes-the world's richest and most diverse biodiversity hotspot. However, much less is known about the biogeographic history and diversification of Andean groups with southern origins, although it has been suggested that northern and southern groups have contributed roughly equally to the high Andean (i.e., paramo) flora. Here we infer the evolutionary history of the southern hemisphere plant genus Gunnera, a lineage with a rich fossil history and an important ecological role as an early colonising species characteristic of wet, montane environments. Our results show striking contrasts in species diversification, where some species may have persisted for some 90 million years, and whereas others date to less than 2 Ma since origination. The outstanding longevity of the group is likely linked to a high degree of niche conservatism across its highly disjunct range, whereby Gunnera tracks damp and boggy soils in cool habitats. Colonisation of the northern Andes is related to Quaternary climate change, with subsequent rapid diversification appearing to be driven by their ability to take advantage of environmental opportunities. This study demonstrates the composite origin of a mega-diverse biota.
