Customer satisfaction and loyalty in the eyes of new and repeat customers: Evidence from the transport sector

Abstract: Introduction: Lipophilicity, expressed as the octanol-water partition coefficient, constitutes the most important property in drug action, influencing both pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamics processes as well as drug toxicity. On the other hand, biomimetic properties defined as the retention outcome on HPLC columns containing a biological relevant agent, provide a considerable advance for rapid experimental – based estimation of ADME properties in early drug discovery stages.Areas covered: This review highlights the paramount importance of lipophilicity in almost all aspects of drug action and safety. It outlines problems brought about by high lipophilicity and provides an overview of the drug-like metrics which incorporate lower limits or ranges of logP. E‐volution of a supply chain: cases and best practices

Abstract: Supply chain management (SCM) is an integrating philosophy to manage the total flow of materials, information and finance from supplier to ultimate customer. The goal of SCM is to meet the needs of the final consumer by supplying the right product at the right place, time and price. Companies use SCM as a way to meet the competitive challenges of today's business environment. The focus of SCM has shifted from engineering efficient functional processes to the co‐ordination of activities in a supply chain network. The aim of this paper is to examine the stages in the evolution of the supply chain to an electronic supply chain. To illustrate and support the types of evolutionary progress involved, best practices and case studies are provided and analysed.

Impact of small- and medium-sized enterprises sustainability practices and performance on economic growth from a managerial perspective: Modeling considerations and empirical analysis results

Abstract: The purpose of this study is to assess the relationship between social, environmental and operational practices and performance with financial performance, focusing on small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). We seek to establish a relationship between the sustainability and the financial performance of SMEs in terms of economic development, as expressed by the indicators of turnover and business growth. A dataset derived from 119 British, French as well as Indian firms is utilized and links between sustainability and the financial performance of SMEs are examined. Bayesian regression modeling was chosen and a model comparison approach followed in order to assess the robustness of the results to the specific choice of analysis with respect to the shape of the dependent variable's distribution. Overall findings indicate robust regression results especially for the highly significant covariates, but caution should be exercised when interpreting the borderline results. A significant positive association between certain items of sustainability and firms‘ financial performance is identified as we found that different indicators of sustainability display associations with the two economic indicators and adoption of the former may influence SME performance.
