Journal ArticleDOI
TL;DR: Results suggested that CALB molecules immobilized on octyl agarose may be closely packed together due to the high immobilization rate and this produced some negative interactions between immobilized enzyme molecules during enzyme thermal inactivation, so slowing-down the immobilization rates may be a solution for this unexpected problem.

164 citations

Journal ArticleDOI
TL;DR: Results indicate that TCM might be used as a complementary and alternative approach to the primary and secondary prevention of cardiovascular disease, however, further rigorously designed randomized controlled trials are warranted to assess the efficacy and safety of TCM on longterm hard endpoints in patients with cardiovascular disease.

116 citations

Journal ArticleDOI
TL;DR: The results show that the detergent properties of some reaction products increase the enzyme release from the hydrophobic support, and this problem increased if the concentration of the reactants increased.

103 citations

Journal ArticleDOI
TL;DR: The biosynthesis of Ag NPs is reported, for the first time, using identified antimicrobial molecules ( gallic acid+apocynin) and (gallic Acid+apOCynin+quercetin) from the medicinal plant Pelargonium endlicherianum Fenzl.

Journal ArticleDOI
TL;DR: The fabricated immunosensor demonstrated excellent sensitivity, stability and reproducibility and therefore was successfully applied to analyse PSA in biological samples and indicates that the proposed immunos sensor has potential in clinical screening of cancer biomarkers.

95 citations

Journal ArticleDOI
TL;DR: This study provides a comprehensive insight into the community structure and diversity of the SNPR system, and will provide foundation for optimal operation of nutrient removal systems.

92 citations

Journal ArticleDOI
TL;DR: The findings strongly indicated that the AgCl-NPs from C. vulgaris conditioned medium is a promising 'green' alternative for biomedical application as antimicrobials.

89 citations

Journal ArticleDOI
TL;DR: This result suggests that the intermediate hydrogen peroxide is not decomposed by catalase due to a short diffusion distance between GOx and HRP in the combi-CLEA, which contains two enzymes glucose oxidase and horseradish peroxidase which are cross-linked together as solid aggregates.

76 citations

Journal ArticleDOI
TL;DR: It is demonstrated that the presence of CuO bonds in NSBs could be indication of VO extract-Cu2+ complexes, and the NSBs exhibited peroxidase-like activity towards guaiacol used as a model substrate depending on Fenton-like reaction.

74 citations

Journal ArticleDOI
TL;DR: In this article, a color screening system was developed and adopted for directed evolution of β-carotene ketolase (OBKT), generating a triple mutant OBKTM (H165R/V264D/F298Y) with 2.4-fold improved activity.

Journal ArticleDOI
TL;DR: A simple but efficient method to synthesize highly robust enzyme-inorganic hybrid nanoflowers, which relies on further crosslinking of the enzyme molecules entrapped in the hybrid nan oflowers by treatment with glutaraldehyde by employing lipase from Candida rugosa as a model enzyme.

Journal ArticleDOI
TL;DR: In general, PEI treatment was the most effective in increasing enzyme stability, while glutaraldehyde had a milder stabilization effect, and crowded enzyme preparations were intermolecular crosslinked using Glu plus PEI, but some molecules still remained non-crosslinked.

Journal ArticleDOI
TL;DR: It is suggested that while pH control in the cathode chamber is important, it does not guarantee sustained laccase activity; as salinity increases affect the activity and it could be mitigated using a cation selective membrane.

Journal ArticleDOI
TL;DR: An improved amperometric l-lactate biosensor was constructed based on covalent immobilization of lactate oxidase (LOx) from Pediococcus species onto carboxylated multiwalled carbon nanotubes/copper nanoparticles/polyaniline hybrid film electrodeposited on the surface of a pencil graphite electrode (PGE).

Journal ArticleDOI
TL;DR: In this work, physical adsorption was used for immobilization of proline dehydrogenase onto a magnetic mesoporous silica nanomaterial, which led to better resistance to temperature and pH inactivation in comparison to the free enzyme.

Journal ArticleDOI
TL;DR: This review exposed knowledge gaps that should be covered in future work in order to fully understand how enzyme synergism works and the effect of lignocellulose degradation products of one enzyme on the behaviour of the other enzyme and ultimately their synergistic relationship.

Journal ArticleDOI
TL;DR: The phylogenetic analysis showed that LipJ2 clusters apart from other members of known lipase families, indicating that the newly isolated Janibacter esterase LipJ 2 would be the first characterized member of a new family of bacterial lipases.

Journal ArticleDOI
TL;DR: Factors that affect the performance of MECs are discussed and critically analysed, and the potential for scale-up of H2 bioelectrosynthesis is also discussed.

Journal ArticleDOI
TL;DR: The first report on association of lignin peroxidase in the synthesis of AuNP and SeNP from Acinetobacter sp.

Journal ArticleDOI
TL;DR: The enzymatic characteristics research showed that ToGI had higher catalytic efficiency and superior thermostability toward d-glucose among the screened GIs, which might be promising for realization of future industrial production of HFCS at elevated temperature.

TL;DR: This laccase, CueO from Escherichia coli K12 in Pichia pastoris GS115, was applied on the decolorization of wastewater from a textile printing factory and showed an obvious bleaching effect.

Journal ArticleDOI
TL;DR: Thermal stability, resistance to pH, recycling and storage capacity were improved as compare to free lipase, and the two kinds of yolk/shells composites were obtained.

Journal ArticleDOI
TL;DR: A mind-body program for chronic LBP improved short-term function and long-term current and most severe pain and the functional improvement was not sustained, suggesting that future development of the intervention could focus on durability.

Journal ArticleDOI
TL;DR: This paper describes the recombinant expression and characterization of a new and highly active cold-adapted xylanase from the GH-family 10 (Xyl-L), and the use of a novel one step combined directed evolution technique that comprises saturation mutagenesis and focused epPCR as a feasible semi-rational strategy to improve the thermostability.
