How many hypertensive patients can be controlled in "real life": an improvement strategy in primary care.

TL;DR: Almost 82% of hypertensive subjects who contact their doctors can be easily controlled; in almost all the remaining non-controlled patients GPs fail to increase drug therapy; a further improvement is therefore possible.

Advanced glycation end-products, measured as skin autofluorescence, associate with vascular stiffness in diabetic, pre-diabetic and normoglycemic individuals: a cross-sectional study.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors investigated the relationship between advanced glycation end-products, measured as skin autofluorescence, and vascular stiffness in various glycemic strata, and found that skin-automated endproducts might be involved in vascular stiffening independent of age and other cardiometabolic risk factors.

Increased hematocrit before blood pressure in men who develop hypertension over 20 years.

TL;DR: Hct was elevated at baseline compatible with the hypothesis that pathogenic hemorheological processes could be activated at the outset and prior to cardiac changes in men who later develop hypertension.

El síndrome metabólico en México

TL;DR: Insulin resistance frequency in metabolic syndrome was smaller than expected, but its presence is associated with high frequency of metabolic and vascular alterations and depression, which is larger than expected.
