TL;DR: In essential hypertensive subjects, higher resistin levels are associated with renal function impairment, as reflected by decreased eGFR, which suggests involvement of resistin in the progression of kidney damage in the early stages of hypertension.

TL;DR: Data presented here represent initial reference values for cuff-based estimates of aPWV, which can now be obtained in routine clinical practice (e.g. primary care) and are likely to be compatible with data from reference noninvasive techniques.
