Challenging, Accurate and Feasible: CAF-1 as a Tumour Proliferation Marker of Diagnostic and Prognostic Value
TL;DR: In this article, the authors reviewed recent evidence demonstrating that chromatin assembly factor 1 (CAF-1), a histone chaperone selectively expressed in cycling cells, is a proliferation marker of clinical value, when evaluated by immunocytochemistry in breast cancer cytology smears and immunohistochemistry in cancer biopsies from several tissues, strongly correlates with the expression of Ki-67 and other proliferation markers.

Cell cycle analysis of a cell proliferation-associated human nuclear antigen defined by the monoclonal antibody Ki-67.
TL;DR: The data suggest that the early stages of mitogen stimulation represent initial sequences of proliferation and not parts of the cell cycle, and immunostaining with monoclonal antibody Ki-67 provides a reliable means of rapidly evaluating the growth fraction of normal and neoplastic human cell populations.
Journal ArticleDOI
Strategies for subtypes—dealing with the diversity of breast cancer: highlights of the St Gallen International Expert Consensus on the Primary Therapy of Early Breast Cancer 2011
TL;DR: Broad treatment recommendations are presented, recognizing that detailed treatment decisions need to consider disease extent, host factors, patient preferences, and social and economic constraints.
