Active control of beam with magnetostrictive layer

TLDR
In this article, the damping properties of a distributed magnetostrictive layer bonded to an aluminum beam for different boundary conditions and coil configurations are analyzed. But the authors focus on damping characteristics obtained using a distributed magnetic layer and its current carrying actuating coil.

Magnetostrictive actuation of a smart beam with hysteretic material behaviour

TL;DR: In this paper, the hysteresis of a mechanically unconstrained actuator is determined using the Michelson interferometry and the hysteretic behavior is modelled phenomenologically by a Preisach model.

The Second Perturbation Solution for Periodic Vibration of Magnetostrictive Actuator

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors presented the second perturbation solution to the periodic vibration problem for a magnetostrictive rod with the strong engineering background of the Terfenol-D actuator.

The use of magnetostrictive particle actuators for vibration attenuation of flexible beams

TL;DR: In this paper, a laminated composite beam, representative of a flexible beam, containing a layer of magnetostrictive material, is considered as a distributed parameter system and its dynamic behavior has been investigated.
