Carbocycles from donor–acceptor cyclopropanes
TLDR
This review summarizes research directed towards the formation of carbocyclic adducts from donor-acceptor cyclopropanes and focuses on annulation and cycloaddition reactions mediated by Lewis or protic acid, bases, or thermal conditions.Abstract:
This review summarizes research directed towards the formation of carbocyclic adducts from donor–acceptor cyclopropanes. The focus of the review is on annulation and cycloaddition reactions (both inter- and intramolecularly) mediated by Lewis or protic acid, bases, or thermal conditions. Rearrangements resulting in carbocycles and those reactions mediated by transition metal catalysis have been excluded.read more

Enantioselective Crossed Photocycloadditions of Styrenic Olefins by Lewis Acid Catalyzed Triplet Sensitization
TL;DR: It is shown that chiral Lewis acid catalyzed triplet sensitization enables the synthesis of highly enantioenriched diarylcyclobutanes by photocycloaddition of structurally varied 2'-hydroxychalcones with a range of styrene coupling partners.

Synthesis of Ring-Fused 1-Benzazepines via [1,5]-Hydride Shift/7-Endo Cyclization Sequences.
TL;DR: The focus of this research is a direct transformation of 2-(aryl)cyclopropane 1,1-diester derivatives into 1-benzazepines using a cyclopropane moiety as the hydride acceptor in internal redox reactions.

Lewis Acid Catalyzed Stereoselective Dearomative Coupling of Indolylboron Ate Complexes with Donor–Acceptor Cyclopropanes and Alkyl Halides
TL;DR: Indolylboron ate complexes readily generated from 2-lithioindoles and boronic esters and underwent multicomponent dearomative coupling with D-A cyclopropanes and alkyl halides in the presence of Sc(OTf)3 as a catalyst to provide indolines containing three contiguous stereocenters.

Catalytic asymmetric synthesis of polysubstituted spirocyclopropyl oxindoles: organocatalysis versus transition metal catalysis
Zhong-Yan Cao,Jian Zhou +1 more
TL;DR: In this paper, four distinct pathways have been developed for the asymmetric synthesis of this framework, which nicely show the potential of organocatalytic and metal catalyzed asymmetric cyclopropanation in the creation of spirocyclic compounds.
