Catalytic conversion of a biomass-derived oil to fuels and chemicals II: Chemical kinetics, parameter estimation and model predictions

TL;DR: In this paper, a model for bio-oil conversion over HZSM5 catalyst in a fixed-bed microreactor was studied, and the results showed that the selectivity for hydrocarbons could be improved by selecting operating conditions that would either reduce the rate of coke formation, increase the rate or by operating at low concentrations and at low temperatures.
Journal ArticleDOI

Swelling Kinetics of Disulfide Cross-Linked Microgels

TL;DR: A direct relationship between the hydrogel swelling rate and the rate of cross-link cleavage was found, and a linear dependence between the square of the swelling rates and DTT concentration suggests the possibility of chemical-responsive microgels.
Journal ArticleDOI

Kinetics and Mechanism of Birnessite Reduction by Catechol

TL;DR: In this paper, a combination of an in situ electron reductively Mn(III,IV) (hydr)oxides was used to measure the reductive dissolution products that resemble soil humic substances.

Thermodynamic study of lanthanide(III) complexes withbifunctional monophosphinic acid analogues of H4dota andcomparative kinetic study of yttrium(III) complexes

TL;DR: In this paper, new bifunctional H4dota-like ligands with three acetic acid and one phosphinic acid pendant arms and propionate (H5do3apPrA) were investigated.
Journal ArticleDOI

Substrate-Triggered Addition of Dioxygen to the Diferrous Cofactor of Aldehyde-Deformylating Oxygenase to Form a Diferric-Peroxide Intermediate

TL;DR: The results represent the most definitive evidence to date that ADO can use a diiron cofactor (rather than a homo- or heterodinuclear cluster involving another transition metal) and provide support for a mechanism involving attack on the carbonyl of the bound substrate by the reduced O2 moiety to form a Fe2(III/III) complex with a bound peroxide.
