Abstract
An omnidirectional slot array antenna based on substrate integrated waveguide (SIW) technology is developed in this letter, which inherits the merits of small size, low profile, and low cost etc. form SIW. Omnidirectional SIW slot array antennas are realized by etching longitudinal slots on both sides of the top and bottom metallic planes of a SIW. The experiment results for 6 GHz wireless access applications show that 3% bandwidth (VSWRles1.5) and a very good omnidirectional radiation pattern are achieved.

Horizontally Polarized Omnidirectional Antenna Array Using Cascaded Cavities

TL;DR: In this article, a new structure of horizontally polarized antenna array is presented for azimuthal omnidirectional coverage by breaking the fringing field symmetry along the typical parallel strip-lines, which is implemented by loading field block structures alternatively and periodically.

Laminate integration platforms for millimeter-wave RoF photodiode modules

Ivan Flammia
TL;DR: This thesis investigates the potential offered by cost-effective printed circuit technology (PCT) for the packaging of mm-wave photodiode (PD) modules, as an alternative to the commonly used integration approaches based on thin/ thick-films or co-fired ceramics, as well as limitations imposed by the printed circuit board (PCB) manufacturing processes.

Development of a "laminated waveguide"

TL;DR: In this paper, a waveguide of new structure has been developed for millimeter-wave applications, which can be embedded in a substrate and is able to be wired in three dimensions, and its transmission characteristics are evaluated using a glass-ceramic substrate of dielectric constant, /spl epsiv/sub r/=5, and loss, tan /spl delta/=0.0008.
