Design Patterns: Elements of Reusable Object-Oriented Software

TLDR
The book is an introduction to the idea of design patterns in software engineering, and a catalog of twenty-three common patterns, which most experienced OOP designers will find out they've known about patterns all along.
Abstract
The book is an introduction to the idea of design patterns in software engineering, and a catalog of twenty-three common patterns. The nice thing is, most experienced OOP designers will find out they've known about patterns all along. It's just that they've never considered them as such, or tried to centralize the idea behind a given pattern so that it will be easily reusable.

A design pattern language for engineering (parallel) software: merging the PLPP and OPL projects

TL;DR: The context for the problem, the layers in the design pattern language, and descriptions of the patterns themselves are presented, which provide background for a lively discussion of this pattern language.
Journal ArticleDOI

Software architecture graphs as complex networks: A novel partitioning scheme to measure stability and evolution

TL;DR: It is demonstrated that the classes in the software graph are acquiring more out-going calls than incoming calls as the software ages, and a software design metric I"c"c is proposed to quantify the evolution of the stability vs. maintainability of the software through various releases.
Journal ArticleDOI

A review of design pattern mining techniques

TL;DR: This paper presents a review on current techniques and tools for mining design patterns from source code or design of software systems, classify different approaches and analyze their results in a comparative study.

The Safety of Software - Constructing and Assuring Arguments

TL;DR: This document summarizes current capabilities, research and operational priorities, and plans for further studies that were established at the 2015 USGS workshop on quantitative hazard assessments of earthquake-triggered landsliding and liquefaction in the Central American region.
Journal ArticleDOI

Commitment-Based Service-Oriented Architecture

TL;DR: In a new SOA, the components are business services and the connectors are patterns, modeled as commitments, that support key elements of service engagements.

Smalltalk-80: The Language and its Implementation

TL;DR: This book is the first detailed account of the Smalltalk-80 system and is divided into four major parts: an overview of the concepts and syntax of the programming language, a specification of the system's functionality, and an example of the design and implementation of a moderate-size application.

Object Oriented Software Engineering: A Use Case Driven Approach

Ivar Jacobson
TL;DR: This chapter discusses object-oriented software engineering as a process of change, management and reuse, and some of the methods used to develop and implement object- oriented software.

Object-oriented modeling and design

TL;DR: The OMT Graphical Notation (OMT) as mentioned in this paper is a graphical notation for object-oriented languages that is based on the OMT graph diagram language (OMT).
