Digital Color Imaging

TLDR
A survey of color imaging can be found in this article, where the fundamental concepts of color perception and measurement are first presented us-ing vector-space notation and terminology, along with common mathematical models used for representing these devices.
Abstract
This paper surveys current technology and research in the area of digital color imaging. In order to establish the background and lay down terminology, fundamental concepts of color perception and measurement are first presented us-ing vector-space notation and terminology. Present-day color recording and reproduction systems are reviewed along with the common mathematical models used for representing these devices. Algorithms for processing color images for display and communication are surveyed, and a forecast of research trends is attempted. An extensive bibliography is provided.

Dichromatic color perception in a two stage model: Testing for cone replacement and cone loss models

TL;DR: A two stage model of dichromatic color perception that consists of a first sensor layer with gain control followed by an opponent encoding transformation and is validated using existing data and by using predictions on known test images for detecting dichromacy.

A novel method based combined color features for large-scale spatial image data retrieval

TL;DR: A novel method based combined color features for large-scale spatial image retrieval by considering divided smaller sub-images is proposed to fill the gap in fast and efficient processing of information from huge image data.

Organic Boundary Location Based on Color-Texture of Visual Perception in Wireless Capsule Endoscopy Video

TL;DR: This paper addresses the problem of automatically locating the boundary between the stomach and the small intestine (the pylorus) in wireless capsule endoscopy (WCE) video with the design of the Monitor-Judge model.

Design of color screen sets for robustness to color plane misregistration

TL;DR: To quantitatively measure the effect of registration errors, a notion of “visual equivalence” is proposed, and three propositions under which visual equivalence can be achieved, even when registration errors occur are derived.

The Algorithm of Objective Association Rules Mining Based on Binary

TL;DR: An algorithm of objective association rules used in data mining, which is suitable for mining some potential rules related to the given object from large data warehouse, is proposed.

Some methods for classification and analysis of multivariate observations

TL;DR: The k-means algorithm as mentioned in this paper partitions an N-dimensional population into k sets on the basis of a sample, which is a generalization of the ordinary sample mean, and it is shown to give partitions which are reasonably efficient in the sense of within-class variance.

Least squares quantization in PCM

TL;DR: In this article, the authors derived necessary conditions for any finite number of quanta and associated quantization intervals of an optimum finite quantization scheme to achieve minimum average quantization noise power.

An Algorithm for Vector Quantizer Design

TL;DR: An efficient and intuitive algorithm is presented for the design of vector quantizers based either on a known probabilistic model or on a long training sequence of data.

Vector Quantization and Signal Compression

TL;DR: The author explains the design and implementation of the Levinson-Durbin Algorithm, which automates the very labor-intensive and therefore time-heavy and expensive process of designing and implementing a Quantizer.

Lightness and Retinex Theory

TL;DR: The mathematics of a lightness scheme that generates lightness numbers, the biologic correlate of reflectance, independent of the flux from objects is described.
