Digital Color Imaging

TLDR
A survey of color imaging can be found in this article, where the fundamental concepts of color perception and measurement are first presented us-ing vector-space notation and terminology, along with common mathematical models used for representing these devices.
Abstract
This paper surveys current technology and research in the area of digital color imaging. In order to establish the background and lay down terminology, fundamental concepts of color perception and measurement are first presented us-ing vector-space notation and terminology. Present-day color recording and reproduction systems are reviewed along with the common mathematical models used for representing these devices. Algorithms for processing color images for display and communication are surveyed, and a forecast of research trends is attempted. An extensive bibliography is provided.

Embedding fuzzy logic in content based image retrieval

TL;DR: This paper focuses on the possible embedding of the uncertainty regarding the colors of an image into histogram-type descriptors, and proposes a class of such distances, derived from the fuzzy set equality and which are particularize according to various T-norms (fuzzy logical "or" operators).

Design considerations of color image processing pipeline for digital cameras

TL;DR: A new color image processing pipeline (IPP), which processes the image raw data captured from CCD/CMOS sensors and converts to the final color with exposure corrected, is presented and it bridges the gap between theoretical color imaging sciences and practical IPP implementation issues found in digital imaging systems.

Anti-listeria activity of poly(lactic acid)/sawdust particle biocomposite film impregnated with pediocin PA-1/AcH and its use in raw sliced pork.

TL;DR: The feasibility of using PLA/SP+Ped film to reduce the initial load of L. monocytogenes on the surface of raw pork is supported and a potential inhibition of Listeria monocyTogenes is suggested during the chilled storage.

Color quantization and processing by Fibonacci lattices

TL;DR: The proposed color quantization, i.e., color space sampling and numbering of sampled points, makes methods for processing grayscale images extendible to color images.
Journal ArticleDOI

Graph regularization for color image processing

TL;DR: A general discrete regularization framework defined on weighted graphs of arbitrary topologies which can be seen as a discrete analogue of classical regularization theory and uses a discrete definition of the p-Laplace operator.

Some methods for classification and analysis of multivariate observations

TL;DR: The k-means algorithm as mentioned in this paper partitions an N-dimensional population into k sets on the basis of a sample, which is a generalization of the ordinary sample mean, and it is shown to give partitions which are reasonably efficient in the sense of within-class variance.

Least squares quantization in PCM

TL;DR: In this article, the authors derived necessary conditions for any finite number of quanta and associated quantization intervals of an optimum finite quantization scheme to achieve minimum average quantization noise power.

An Algorithm for Vector Quantizer Design

TL;DR: An efficient and intuitive algorithm is presented for the design of vector quantizers based either on a known probabilistic model or on a long training sequence of data.

Vector Quantization and Signal Compression

TL;DR: The author explains the design and implementation of the Levinson-Durbin Algorithm, which automates the very labor-intensive and therefore time-heavy and expensive process of designing and implementing a Quantizer.

Lightness and Retinex Theory

TL;DR: The mathematics of a lightness scheme that generates lightness numbers, the biologic correlate of reflectance, independent of the flux from objects is described.
