TLDR
A survey of color imaging can be found in this article, where the fundamental concepts of color perception and measurement are first presented us-ing vector-space notation and terminology, along with common mathematical models used for representing these devices.Abstract:
This paper surveys current technology and research in the area of digital color imaging. In order to establish the background and lay down terminology, fundamental concepts of color perception and measurement are first presented us-ing vector-space notation and terminology. Present-day color recording and reproduction systems are reviewed along with the common mathematical models used for representing these devices. Algorithms for processing color images for display and communication are surveyed, and a forecast of research trends is attempted. An extensive bibliography is provided.read more

Methodology for Evaluating the Quality of ICC Profiles—Scanner, Monitor, and Printer
TL;DR: This research proposes a ΔE metric system that can be used to evaluate the quality of commercially created ICC input, display, and output profiles and describes three possible metrics for a printer profile-accuracy of the B2A 1 tag (PCS to Device), A2B1 tag (Device to PCS), and a round trip test.

Colour management of a low‐cost four‐colour ink‐jet printing system on textiles
TL;DR: A low-cost four-colour dye-based ink-jet printing system for textiles was introduced in this paper, in which red and blue inks were employed instead of the magenta and cyan inks used in half-tone printing.

Colour demosaicking method using adaptive cubic convolution interpolation with sequential averaging
TL;DR: In this paper, the luminance channel is estimated by cubic convolution interpolation along the direction of the smallest gradient magnitude at each chrominance pixel position, followed by sequential filtering on the reconstructed chrominance channels.

Visible colour difference-based quantitative evaluation of colour segmentation
H. C. Chen,Sheng-Jyh Wang +1 more
TL;DR: The authors present the use of visible colour difference in a new quantitative evaluation scheme for colour segmentation and demonstrate that this new scheme may evaluate segmentation results without any ground truth, and could help the automatic selection of parameter settings for a given segmentation algorithm.

A fuzzy color credibility approach to color image filtering
TL;DR: This contribution proposes a fuzzy approach to color image filtering by the fuzzy modeling of the concept of color credibility, based on the perceptual notion of color resemblance, which is similar to a vector median-type filter.

Some methods for classification and analysis of multivariate observations
TL;DR: The k-means algorithm as mentioned in this paper partitions an N-dimensional population into k sets on the basis of a sample, which is a generalization of the ordinary sample mean, and it is shown to give partitions which are reasonably efficient in the sense of within-class variance.

Least squares quantization in PCM
TL;DR: In this article, the authors derived necessary conditions for any finite number of quanta and associated quantization intervals of an optimum finite quantization scheme to achieve minimum average quantization noise power.

TL;DR: An efficient and intuitive algorithm is presented for the design of vector quantizers based either on a known probabilistic model or on a long training sequence of data.
