TLDR
An enzymic assay for the sequential determination of UDP-glucose, UDP-galactose, UTP, UDP, and 5′-UMP in tissues is described, which uses commercially available enzymes and is highly reproducible, with standard deviations of less than 2%.

Comparaison des teneurs en saccharose et en nucléotides riches en énergie des graines en germination d'une betterave sucrière et d'une betterave fourragère

TL;DR: Comparison of a sugar beet with a forage beet variety shows that, during germination, the seedlings have the same nucleoside triphosphate content, but those of sugar beet contain more sucrose and less UDPG than those of forage Beet.

Adaptation of rats to a diet high in galactose

TL;DR: Rats fed galactose as 70 per cent of their diet first lost weight but afterwards grew at one-sixth of the normal rate, and urine production was nine to sixteen times higher than in the controls.

Inhibition of tyrosine aminotransferase induction by UTP deficiency and its reversal by 5-fluorouridine in cultured hepatoma cells.

TL;DR: Hepatoma tissue culture cells, grown in the presence of D-galactosamine and 6-azauridine, demonstrate a strong reduction of the intracellular UTP pool that can be replenished by formation of UTP from uridine and FUTP from 5-fluorouridine within 2 h.

[31] Luminometric determination of flavin adenine dinucleotide

TL;DR: This chapter highlights luminometric determination of flavin adenine dinucleotide (FAD), the predominant biologically active form of riboflavin, which is an ubiquitous cofactor of redox enzymes such as dehydrogenases, transhydrogenase, reductases, oxidases, and oxygenases.

Experimental hepatitis induced by d-galactosamine

TL;DR: Repeated intraperitoneal injections of d-galactosamine produce within 24–48 hours in rat livers alterations that closely resemble human viral hepatitis, indicating a high specificity of d -galactoamine.

The enzymatic transformation of uridine diphosphate glucose into a galactose derivative

TL;DR: It is concluded that the compound found with treatment of UDPG with an enzyme of S. fragilis is uridine diphosphate galactose, and the bearing of this finding on the mechanism of action of UDPG is discussed.
Journal ArticleDOI

Isolation of the coenzyme of the galactose phosphate-glucose phosphate transformation.

TL;DR: In the initial studies (5) it was found that a thermostable factor was required in the over-all Reactions II and III, which led eventually to the discovery and isolation of glucose diphosphate, which acts as a coenzyme in Reaction III.
