Experimental melting of phlogopite-bearing mantle at 1 GPa: Implications for potassic magmatism

TLDR
In this paper, the fluid-absent melting of a phlogopite peridotite at 10 GPa (1000-1300°C) was investigated to understand the source of K2O- and SiO2-rich magmas that occur in continental, post-collisional and island arc settings.

Mineralogy, provenance, and diagenesis of a potassic basaltic sandstone on Mars: CheMin X-ray diffraction of the Windjana sample (Kimberley area, Gale Crater)

TL;DR: The presence of sediment from many igneous sources, in concert with Curiosity's identifications of other igneous materials (e.g., mugearite), implies that the northern rim of Gale Crater exposes a diverse igneous complex, at least as diverse as that found in similar‐age terranes on Earth.

Post-collisional magmatism: Crustal growth not identified by zircon Hf–O isotopes

TL;DR: This article showed that post-collisional mafic magmas and their derivatives represent a non-negligible contribution to crustal growth, despite having zircons with "crust-like" Hf-O isotope signatures.

Origin of postcollisional magmas and formation of porphyry Cu deposits in southern Tibet

TL;DR: In this paper, the origin of porphyry copper deposits in the Himalaya-Tibetan orogenic belt is investigated using available data on whole rock and isotope geochemistry for Cenozoic igneous rocks.

Nomenclature of amphiboles; report of the subcommittee on amphiboles of the International Mineralogical Association, Commission on New Minerals and Mineral Names

TL;DR: The International Mineralogical Association's approved amphibole nomenclature has been revised to simplify it, make it more consistent with divisions generally at 50%, define prefixes and modifiers more precisely, and include new amphibole species discovered and named since 1978, when the previous scheme was approved.

Viscosity of magmatic liquids: A model

TL;DR: In this paper, a model that predicts the non-Arrhenian Newtonian viscosity of silicate melts as a function of T and melt composition, including the rheologically important volatile constituents H2O and F, is presented.

Chemical characteristics of fluid phase released from a subducted lithosphere and origin of arc magmas: Evidence from high-pressure experiments and natural rocks

TL;DR: Dehydration experiments on synthetic serpentine spiked with 11 trace elements (Cs, Rb, K, Ba, Sr, La, Sm, Tb, Y, Yb and Nb) have been carried out at 12 kbar and 850°C to examine the nature of element migration processes in the upper mantle beneath volcanic arcs.

Post-collision, shoshonitic volcanism on the Tibetan Plateau: implications for convective thinning of the lithosphere and the source of ocean island basalts

TL;DR: The dominant lavas are pyroxene and plagioclase-phyric shoshonites with subordinate occurrences of dacites and rhyolites as mentioned in this paper, which are characterized by relatively low TiO2, AI2O3 and Fe^Os, and high.A&^Q coupled with variable abundances of compatible trace elements and very high contents of incompatible trace elements.
