TLDR
In this paper, a roughness-viscosity model was proposed to interpret the experimental data and the results indicated significant departure of flow characteristics from the predictions of the conventional theory for microtubes with smaller diameters.

Mixing Enhancement of Electroosmotic Flow in Microchannels under DC and AC Electric Field

TL;DR: In this article, the effect of DC or AC electric field on mixing efficiency is investigated numerically and four types of AC waveforms are considered to explore the flow characteristic and mixing efficiency.

Direct numerical simulation of rarefied turbulent microchannel flow

TL;DR: In this paper, the effect of weak rarefaction on turbulent gas flow and heat transfer characteristics in microchannel was investigated by using direct numerical simulation (DNS) and the results showed that rarefactions can influence the turbulent flow and temperature statistics.

Forced Convective Heat Transfer Characteristics of Water Through a Minichannel at Higher Reynolds Number.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors measured the pressure drop and convective heat transfer coefficient of water flowing through a uniformly heated circular minichannel in the turbulent flow regime, and the experimental results show that the data for water friction factor show a good agreement with analytical predictions from the Darcy's equation for single-phase flow I.

Boundary layer theory

TL;DR: The flow laws of the actual flows at high Reynolds numbers differ considerably from those of the laminar flows treated in the preceding part, denoted as turbulence as discussed by the authors, and the actual flow is very different from that of the Poiseuille flow.

Measurement of friction factors for the flow of gases in very fine channels used for microminiature Joule-Thomson refrigerators

TL;DR: In this article, the friction factors for the flow of gases in the fine channels used for microminiature Joule-Thomson refrigerators have been measured using a photolithographic technique.

Experimental Investigation on Liquid Forced-Convection Heat-Transfer Through Microchannels

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors investigated the single-phase forced-flow convection of water or methanol flowing through microchannels with rectangular cross-section and found that the fully developed turbulent convection regime was initiated at about Re = 1000-1500.
