TLDR
In this paper, a roughness-viscosity model was proposed to interpret the experimental data and the results indicated significant departure of flow characteristics from the predictions of the conventional theory for microtubes with smaller diameters.

A novel thin-film temperature and heat-flux microsensor for heat transfer measurements in microchannels

TL;DR: A new generic temperature and heat-flux sensor composed of forty gold thermoresistances, 85 nm thick, deposited on both sides of a borosilicate substrate was designed, calibrated and tested and found to be in good agreement with classical Nu-Re macroscopic correlations.
Journal ArticleDOI

Analytical, experimental, and numerical analysis of a microchannel cooling system for high-concentration photovoltaic cells

TL;DR: In this article, the performance of a heat sink system designed as a parallel arrangement of microchannels for cooling a high-concentration photovoltaic (HCPV) cell was analyzed.

Experimental investigation on flow and heat transfer characteristics of single-phase flow with simulated neutronic feedback in narrow rectangular channel

TL;DR: In this article, a single phase forced convection flow and heat transfer of deionized water in horizontal and vertical narrow rectangular channel with gap size of 1.8mm were experimentally investigated.

Effect of Wall Roughness on Laminar Flow of Bingham Plastic Fluids through Microtubes

TL;DR: Peng, Peterson, and Wang as discussed by the authors experimentally studied the behavior of water flow through rectangular microchan-nels having hydraulic diameters of 0.133 to 0.367 mm and height-to-width ratios between 0.333 to 1.

Boundary layer theory

TL;DR: The flow laws of the actual flows at high Reynolds numbers differ considerably from those of the laminar flows treated in the preceding part, denoted as turbulence as discussed by the authors, and the actual flow is very different from that of the Poiseuille flow.

Experimental Investigation on Liquid Forced-Convection Heat-Transfer Through Microchannels

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors investigated the single-phase forced-flow convection of water or methanol flowing through microchannels with rectangular cross-section and found that the fully developed turbulent convection regime was initiated at about Re = 1000-1500.
