TLDR
Higher concentrations of dioxins and coplanar PCBs were detected in the samples from temperate Asian regions, plausibly due to larger usage and anthropogenic generation in highly industrialized countries around the East China Sea and the South China Sea, such as Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong and coastal China.

Biochemical biomarkers in algae and marine pollution: a review.

TL;DR: The effects of pollutants on the cellular biochemistry of microalgae and the biochemical mechanisms thatmicroalgae use to detoxify or modify pollutants are reviewed and the potential uses ofMicroalgae as bioindicator species as an early sentinel in polluted sites are evaluated.

Environmental Specimen Bank in Ehime University (es-BANK), Japan for global monitoring

TL;DR: It is found that the major emission sources for the industrial chemicals like polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) are in the developed nations while those of organochlorine pesticides like dichlorodiphenyltrichloroethane and its metabolites (DDTs), hexachlorocyclohexane isomers (HCHs) are located in developing countries.

Epidemiology of multiple myeloma in Taiwan: increasing incidence for the past 25 years and higher prevalence of extramedullary myeloma in patients younger than 55 years

TL;DR: The incidence of multiple myeloma (MM) is lower in Asia than in western countries, however, no data are available on descriptive epidemiology of MM in Chinese.
Journal ArticleDOI

Effects of lead, molybdenum, rubidium, arsenic and organochlorines on spermatogenesis in fish: monitoring at Mekong Delta area and in vitro experiment.

TL;DR: Results are consistent with the hypothesis that Pb, Mo, Rb and As can exert inhibitory effects on spermatogenesis in catfish inhabiting the Mekong Delta area.

Dioxins and furans in air and deposition: A review of levels, behaviour and processes

TL;DR: Data are reviewed which relate the mixture of PCDD/Fs in air to that in deposition; this leads to the conclusion that different homologue groups are transferred to the earth's surface with broadly similar efficiencies.
