TLDR
The present data show that ethanol treatment not only causes direct insolubilization of proanthocyanidins, but also affects the regulation of pro Anthracyanidin synthesis at the transcriptional level, and demonstrates that persimmon fruit can serve as a profitable material to study proanthcyanid in accumulation at molecular level.

In Posidonia oceanica cadmium induces changes in DNA methylation and chromatin patterning

TL;DR: The data demonstrate that Cd perturbs the DNA methylation status through the involvement of a specific methyltransferase, linked to nuclear chromatin reconfiguration likely to establish a new balance of expressed/repressed chromatin.

Ectopic Expression of VvMybPA2 Promotes Proanthocyanidin Biosynthesis in Grapevine and Suggests Additional Targets in the Pathway

TL;DR: High-throughput transcriptomic analyses of transformed grapevine organs identified a large set of putative targets of the Vv mybPA1 and VvMybPA2 transcription factors, putative new actors of the proanthocyanidin pathway, such as glucosyltransferases and transporters.

Abscisic acid stimulated ripening and gene expression in berry skins of the Cabernet Sauvignon grape

TL;DR: Exogenous ABA modulated the transcripts associated with osmotic responses, stress responses, cell wall modification, auxin and ethylene metabolism and responses, in addition to the induction of anthocyanin biosynthetic genes, and reduced those associated with photosynthesis.

Proanthocyanidins--a final frontier in flavonoid research?

TL;DR: Molecular genetic approaches are leading to an understanding of the regulatory genes that control proanthocyanidin biosynthesis, and this information, together with increased knowledge of the enzymes specific for the pathway, will facilitate the genetic engineering of plants for introduction of value-added nutraceutical and forage quality traits.
