Influence of physicochemical properties of various soil types on iodide and iodate sorption.
TLDR
The sorption behavior of two most abundant naturally occurring inorganic iodine species - iodide and iodate - in several soil types showed that the sorption process is extremely slow with equilibrium achieved after ten days, providing new insight into the complex iodine behavior and retention in soils.About:

The search for organic compounds with TMAH thermochemolysis: From Earth analyses to space exploration experiments
Yuanyuan He,Arnaud Buch,Cyril Szopa,Cyril Szopa,Amy J. Williams,Maeva Millan,Maeva Millan,Melissa Guzman,Caroline Freissinet,Charles Malespin,Daniel P. Glavin,Jennifer L. Eigenbrode,D. Coscia,Samuel Teinturier,Pin Lu,Michel Cabane,Paul R. Mahaffy +16 more
TL;DR: Tetramethylammonium hydroxide (TMAH) is one of the most popular methylation reagents that have been increasingly used for the detection of organic compounds within a wide range of samples, such as soil, coal, lacquer, lignin, polymers and for in situ analysis of solid samples by space experiments as mentioned in this paper.

Iodine bioavailability in acidic soils of Northern Ireland
H.E. Bowley,H.E. Bowley,Scott D. Young,E.L. Ander,Neil M.J. Crout,Michael J. Watts,Elizabeth H. Bailey +6 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the role of soil properties in retaining and fixing iodine in soils and controlling its phyto-availability to grass was investigated, and a model describing iodine dynamics and uptake accounted for 75% of the variation in iodine concentration in grass.
